Overview

THE KNOT YOKOHAMA is about a five-minute walk from the West Exit of Yokohama Station. Ship-cabin-inspired rooms and a wood-fire restaurant give the hotel a distinct character, while the surrounding shopping streets put meals and shops close at hand.

From this station-side location, local trains take you to the waterfront and Chinatown. The hotel works particularly well for days split between Yokohama sightseeing and trips into Tokyo.

Rooms

Custom ACME Furniture and photographs of Yokohama carry the maritime theme into the rooms. Semi-doubles measure 12 square metres and have one 120-centimetre-wide bed, while doubles are 13 square metres with a 140-centimetre-wide bed. Both are compact, especially for two people traveling with luggage.

The 30-square-metre Large Twin sleeps up to four, with an extra bed and a sofa bed for the third and fourth guests. The 31-square-metre THE KNOT Large Twin uses the same sleeping arrangement.

On the top floor, THE KNOT ROOM categories feature vintage furniture and decor inspired by 1950s and 1960s America. The suite measures 49 square metres and has separate living and sleeping areas, plus a separate bathroom and toilet. It accommodates up to three guests, including one on a sofa bed.

Facilities

Coin-operated laundry is available around the clock on the fourth floor. The front desk can hold luggage before check-in and after checkout, though bags must be collected by the end of checkout day. Drivers can use affiliated offsite parking at HAMABOWL EAS.

Dining

SMOKE DOOR, on the first floor, cooks over a wood fire. Breakfast combines a salad buffet, including fire-grilled vegetables, with a choice of main dish such as eggs Benedict. Service runs from 7am to 11am, with last entry at 10:30am.

The restaurant later serves lunch and dinner, with cafe and bar service between meals. You can return for an afternoon drink or have dinner here after sightseeing.

Location and transport

From Yokohama Station, the Minatomirai Line runs to Minatomirai for the waterfront and Motomachi-Chukagai for Chinatown. JR trains reach Shinagawa in about 17 minutes.

For the Tokaido Shinkansen, take the Blue Line subway to Shin-Yokohama Station, about 11 minutes away by train. Yokohama and Shin-Yokohama are separate stations. Allow extra time for the walk from the hotel and the transfer to the Shinkansen platforms.

Airport access

From Haneda Airport, Keikyu services reach Yokohama Station in about 30 minutes. Some journeys require a change at Keikyu Kamata, so check the route for your departure.

From Narita Airport, Ofuna-bound Narita Express trains serve Yokohama, with journeys taking roughly 90 minutes depending on the service. Choose a train serving Yokohama rather than the Shinjuku branch. Both airport journeys end with the walk from Yokohama Station to the hotel.

Why stay here

Luggage storage lets you go out before your room is ready or spend a final day in Yokohama after checkout. For three or four guests, the larger twin rooms provide a way to stay together without giving up the station-side location.

Around the Yokohama Station Area, JOINUS provides west-side shopping and restaurants, while Yokohama Takashimaya adds basement food halls and souvenir shopping. There is plenty nearby for days when you don't want to head down to the waterfront.
