Overview
One minute on foot from Beppu Station, Onyado Nono Beppu brings an extensive onsen experience to central Beppu. Tatami flooring extends throughout the interiors, while the 13th-floor complex has separate men's and women's natural hot-spring baths, open-air pools, self-pour saunas, cold baths, and views toward Beppu Bay.
Seven private baths provide another way to soak. Their indoor and open-air designs take inspiration from Beppu's other hot-spring districts, so you can devote plenty of time to bathing without giving up the convenience of the city's main rail and bus hub.
Rooms
Options range from doubles and queens to twins, triples, family rooms, an accessible twin, and a suite. Entry-level doubles measure about 17.6 square meters, while the roughly 41-square-meter family rooms accommodate up to four people.
The much larger suite has its own sauna and open-air bath. Standard rooms have shower booths rather than soaking tubs, leaving longer soaks to the top-floor baths. If you're booking for three or four people, check the exact bed arrangement before confirming.
Facilities
The top-floor public baths draw on the hotel's own Beppu spring for the indoor and open-air pools. Each side also has two pot baths, a self-pour sauna, a chilled cold-water bath, and an outdoor area for cooling down.
Two of the seven private baths are indoors and five are open-air. They're available on a first-come basis for 45-minute visits. Laundry facilities and same-day luggage storage cover the main everyday needs.
Dining
Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet with roughly 80 dishes. A build-your-own seafood bowl, Oita-style chicken tempura, and local soups give it more regional character than a standard business-hotel breakfast.
Complimentary soba is served later in the evening. Welcome drinks, post-bath ice pops, and a morning lactic-acid drink are smaller touches timed around arrival and bathing.
Location and transport
The hotel is immediately north of Beppu Station in the Beppu Station Area. JR's Nippo Main Line and Sonic limited express trains run directly toward Oita, Kokura, and Hakata.
Buses from the station take about 20 minutes to reach Kannawa and the main Hells area. Takegawara Onsen is closer, around ten minutes away on foot through central Beppu, so a neighborhood bath visit can easily complement the hotel's own facilities.
Airport access
The scheduled Airliner bus connects Oita Airport with Beppu Station in around 50 minutes under typical conditions. From the station, the one-minute walk keeps the final leg brief.
It isn't a hotel transfer. Timetables and road conditions can affect the journey, so allow a sensible margin before departure.
Why stay here
A late arrival doesn't rule out a long soak, since guests can check in quickly and head to the public-bath complex upstairs. The seven private baths give couples and families more options, while rooms for up to four people allow groups to stay together instead of booking two compact rooms.
The tradeoff becomes clear when exploring beyond the hotel. Central Beppu is convenient for trains, buses, and Takegawara Onsen, but it doesn't place you among Kannawa's steam-filled lanes. Reaching the Hells and higher onsen districts still requires a bus or taxi.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. The public baths operate overnight with a late-morning closure, while the saunas close for part of the night. Private baths can't be reserved in advance, and guests are asked to limit each visit to about 45 minutes.
Tattooed guests are generally not admitted to the public baths, although cover stickers may be available for designs that fit beneath an 8-by-10-centimeter sticker. Ask the hotel before booking if this may affect your stay.
The paid mechanical car park has 102 spaces, vehicle-size restrictions, and no advance reservations. Arriving by rail or airport bus avoids that uncertainty.
