Overview
A 7,600-square-meter garden between the hotel and Shin-Imamiya Station immediately sets OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resorts apart from a typical city stay. Known as Miya-green, the station-front space has lawns, terraces, and paths, while Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku are about five minutes away on foot.
This is a large, activity-led hotel on the edge of Osaka-Shinsekai. Direct Nankai airport trains, JR routes across Osaka, a reservable shuttle to Universal Studios Japan, and rooms for up to six simplify the logistics. A public bath, neighborhood tours, and a nightly festival-style event give guests reasons to return before bedtime.
Rooms
The hotel has 436 rooms in one building, with layouts for one to six guests. Standard Twin and Corner Twin rooms make up much of the selection, while more distinctive categories give families and groups extra space.
The DANDAN Room combines a bunk bed with a window-side living area and accommodates up to three guests. The 59-square-meter IDOBATA Suite sleeps as many as six, with four beds arranged in partitioned corners around a central table and lounge. Guests using the fifth and sixth sleeping places prepare the sofa beds themselves.
All rooms are non-smoking. DANDAN and IDOBATA layouts have separate bathrooms and toilets, which helps when several people share a room. Children aged six and under may share existing beds as long as the stated room capacity isn't exceeded.
Facilities
Miya-green changes the arrival experience. Instead of a conventional paved forecourt, the lawn, terraces, and paths create a broad public space in front of the station. Inside, OMO Base provides lounge space and a large neighborhood map for planning walks through Shinsekai.
Yuya is a separate bathhouse in the garden, inspired by Osaka's public-bath culture. It opens in morning and evening sessions for staying guests and carries an extra charge. Smart laundry, complimentary lockers, water dispensers, and a microwave handle the less glamorous parts of a longer trip.
Paid parking and four EV charging spaces are also available. Parking is first come, first served, so arriving by rail is simpler when possible.
Dining
Breakfast can be substantial or quick. OMO Dining serves a buffet with familiar breakfast dishes and Osaka-inspired choices, while OMO Cafe & Bar has four plated morning sets and takeaway options.
The cafe continues from lunch until late evening with casual meals, drinks, and food combining Osaka flavors with influences from the surrounding neighborhood. OMO Dining also serves an early-evening a la carte menu. Neither option requires committing to a formal restaurant meal before heading out.
Location and transport
The hotel stands directly in front of Shin-Imamiya's JR East Exit and Nankai North Exit. JR's Osaka Loop Line runs toward Tennoji and Osaka Station, while the Yamatoji Line provides routes toward JR Namba and Nara. Nankai trains reach Namba in the opposite direction from Kansai Airport services.
Dobutsuen-mae Station is about five minutes away from Exit 6. Its Midosuji Line runs directly through Namba, Shinsaibashi, Umeda, and Shin-Osaka Station. The Sakaisuji Line serves Nippombashi, Nagahoribashi, Sakaisuji-Hommachi, and Kitahama.
Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku are about five minutes from the hotel, with Janjan Yokocho and the district's kushikatsu restaurants extending south of the tower. Dotonbori requires a local train ride rather than being just outside the door.
Airport access
Nankai Rapi:t trains run directly between Kansai International Airport and Shin-Imamiya in about 37 minutes. Airport Express services also stop at Shin-Imamiya and require only an ordinary ticket, although journey times vary by departure.
The airport train reaches the station rather than an entrance inside the hotel. The building is directly in front of the JR East and Nankai North exits, leaving only a short outdoor walk. An advance-reservation luggage service separately connects OMO7 Osaka with OMO Kansai Airport for guests who prefer to send their bags ahead.
Why stay here
Direct airport rail, immediate JR and Nankai connections, and a five-minute walk to Shinsekai simplify a south Osaka itinerary. The free reserved shuttle is particularly helpful on Universal Studios Japan days, while rooms for up to six and the large garden give families and groups more breathing room than a compact station hotel.
Shinsekai puts Tsutenkaku, Janjan Yokocho, kushikatsu restaurants, and old-style game arcades within easy walking range. The tradeoff is clear: Namba and Umeda require train rides, and the streets around Shin-Imamiya feel more local and informal than Osaka's polished central shopping districts.
Good to know
The Universal Studios Japan shuttle takes about 30 minutes and requires a reservation. Yuya public bath costs extra. For subway trips, use Dobutsuen-mae; Shin-Imamiya is the JR and Nankai interchange, so checking the operator name matters when you return.
