Overview
Welcoming guests in central Nagoya since 1936, Nagoya Kanko Hotel retains the scope of a traditional full-service hotel. It's two minutes from Nagoya Fushimi Station, with several room tiers, extensive in-house dining, event spaces, and wellness facilities.
The hotel is in Nagoya-Fushimi / Marunouchi, between Nagoya Station and Sakae. Both are one stop away on the Higashiyama Line. The location favors quick subway trips across central Nagoya rather than immediate access to JR and Shinkansen platforms, while the direct Centrair bus avoids a train transfer on airport days.
Rooms
Room choice is unusually broad. On the Comfort floor, categories start with an 18-square-meter semi-double and a 21-square-meter double. The 24-square-meter twin accommodates up to three guests, while the 39-square-meter Comfort Fourth gives groups of four a single-room option.
Classic and Deluxe rooms range from 24 to 48 square meters. Selected categories measuring 43 or 48 square meters have a separate bathtub and washing area. The main suites begin at 62 square meters and extend to the 176-square-meter Royal Suite.
ESPACIO changes the experience more substantially. Its 54 rooms occupy floors 9 to 11 and include kitchens and washer-dryers, while a private lounge on the 18th floor serves food and drinks at four points during the day. Guests on these floors also use dedicated reception services, so it's worth comparing the room floor as carefully as the bed type.
Facilities
The fifth-floor workout room is free for hotel guests aged 18 and over and remains open 24 hours. It has equipment for cardio and strength training, but workout clothing and shoes aren't available to rent.
The Spa ESPACIO MEIKAN adds a pool, large bath, sauna, and a second fitness gym. Access is included for ESPACIO floor guests, while guests on the regular hotel floors pay an additional fee. Spa treatments and a private sauna are optional for both groups.
Banquet and meeting rooms further reflect the hotel's full-service scale. The largest hall accommodates up to 1,000 people, supporting conferences, receptions, and other large events in the building.
Dining
Breakfast runs from 7:00 to 10:00 as a Japanese and Western buffet, with stone-oven pizza among the more distinctive choices. An a la carte morning menu provides an alternative.
Dining continues well beyond breakfast. Japanese restaurants and specialist counters share the lineup with Cantonese and Italian options, while a lounge and main bar cover afternoon tea, drinks, and later evenings. Room service is also available, providing more flexibility than at a hotel centered on breakfast alone.
Location and transport
Fushimi Station exits 8, 9, and 10 are about two minutes away. The Higashiyama Line reaches Nagoya Station in about three minutes and continues one stop east to Sakae. The Tsurumai Line adds direct subway service toward Marunouchi and Osu Kannon.
Fushimi doesn't have JR or Shinkansen platforms. For long-distance trains, continue one stop to Nagoya Station or take a taxi. Depending on the exit, a taxi from the station takes roughly seven to nine minutes in normal traffic.
Airport access
A direct Meitetsu airport limousine bus links the hotel with Chubu Centrair International Airport in about one hour, without advance reservations. It's slower than the fastest rail option, but avoids a transfer with luggage when the timetable suits your flight.
By rail, the Mu-SKY limited express takes about 28 minutes from Centrair to Meitetsu Nagoya, followed by a taxi ride of around five minutes. Nagoya Airport is about 30 minutes away by car.
Why stay here
The direct Centrair bus, two-minute subway walk, and wide range of rooms simplify arrival logistics for longer stays, group trips, and visits built around events at the hotel. The tradeoff is clear for Shinkansen passengers: reaching the hotel requires one short subway ride or a taxi from Nagoya Station rather than a walk from the platforms.
Fushimi brings its own reasons to stay in the district. The Nagoya City Science Museum and City Art Museum share Shirakawa Park, while Misonoza presents Kabuki and other stage performances. The neighborhood feels more intimate than the major shopping and entertainment zones on either side.
Good to know
This isn't a Nagoya Station hotel. Allow time for the subway transfer or taxi when arriving by Shinkansen, especially with several bags or an early departure.
Room size and included services vary sharply among the Comfort, Classic, Deluxe, suite, and ESPACIO categories. ESPACIO lounge and spa access shouldn't be assumed when booking rooms on the regular hotel floors.
