Overview
From its 20th-floor reception, Mitsui Garden Hotel Yokohama Minatomirai Premier extends through the upper levels of Yokohama Connect Square in Yokohama-Minatomirai. Minatomirai Station is about five minutes away on foot.
The elevation defines the experience. Rooms and the main shared spaces look toward Yokohama Port or across the city to the mountains, giving the stay more visual character than a simple station-side room. The tradeoff is that arrival still involves an outdoor walk followed by a shuttle elevator to the lobby.
Rooms
All 364 rooms are on the 21st floor or above. Standard choices begin with 25.4- and 26.4-square-metre queen rooms, while deluxe king, twin, and triple layouts range from about 30 to 37 square metres. Executive corner rooms are the largest at 46.1 square metres, with windows on two sides.
Orientation is worth checking before booking. Northeast-facing rooms look toward Yokohama Port, while southwest-facing categories overlook the city and mountains; Mount Fuji is sometimes visible in clear weather. Permanent triple rooms provide proper beds for three guests, and selected queen rooms have a microwave and washing machine for longer stays.
Facilities
Reserved for hotel guests, Sky Pool LA MAGNOLIA combines indoor and outdoor water areas with a jet bath. It's intended for relaxation rather than lap swimming. A terrace and fitness room on the 20th floor continue the high-rise setting beyond the guest rooms.
The pool has several important restrictions. Guests must be at least 140 centimetres tall, and those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and leave by 6:00 PM. Timed reservations or capacity limits may apply during busy periods, and the outdoor area is weather-dependent. Coin laundry facilities on three guest floors are helpful for longer visits.
Dining
RISTORANTE E'VOLTA -Unico Polo- serves breakfast, lunch, cafe dishes, and dinner beside broad windows on the 20th floor. Its modern Italian cooking draws on seasonal ingredients and Kanagawa produce without restricting the menu to a single regional style.
BAR BELLO GATTI remains open later for drinks and bar food with the Minato Mirai night view as a backdrop. Together, the restaurant and bar allow guests to plan a full evening at the hotel rather than relying on it only for breakfast.
Location and transport
Minatomirai Station is the nearest rail stop, about five minutes away on foot, but the hotel isn't directly connected to it. The station's single line reaches Yokohama Station in about three minutes, where travelers can transfer to JR, Keikyu, Sotetsu, subway, and wider regional services.
Sakuragicho Station provides another approach and is about ten minutes away on foot. A pedestrian deck leads toward the hotel's second-floor entrance, although part of the route remains outdoors. Tokaido Shinkansen journeys require a local connection to Shin-Yokohama Station; bullet trains don't serve Minato Mirai itself.
Airport access
From Haneda Airport, the usual rail route uses Keikyu to Yokohama Station, followed by the Minatomirai Line and the final walk. An airport bus to Yokohama is another option, but it still leaves a local transfer rather than stopping at the hotel.
Guidance from Narita Airport uses either the Narita Express or an airport bus to Yokohama before continuing to Minatomirai. Neither airport journey is door to door. If you're carrying substantial luggage or leaving very early, compare current timetables and transfer arrangements with the cost of a taxi.
Why stay here
High-floor views, larger room categories, and the guest-only pool make downtime a more meaningful part of the stay than it would be at a basic business hotel. The five-minute walk from Minatomirai Station keeps the waterfront district manageable, but there is no direct station connection, hotel airport bus, or immediate Shinkansen access.
Yokohama Museum of Art stands beside Yokohama Connect Square, while Landmark Tower and Queen's Square lead toward the waterfront. Pacifico Yokohama, parks, museums, shops, and family attractions provide enough to fill much of a short visit without leaving the wider Minato Mirai district.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. Parking is available on a first-come basis in the shared Yokohama Connect Square garage, which has overnight hours when vehicles cannot enter or leave.
Shuttle elevators reach the 20th-floor lobby from the first- and second-floor entrances. Pool hours and reservation rules may change during busy periods, so check the current arrangements if LA MAGNOLIA is central to your booking.
