Overview

Kyoto Plaza Hotel Kintetsu Jujo is located in southern Kyoto, about five minutes on foot from Kintetsu Jujo Station. It is outside the main hotel cluster around Kyoto Station, but Kyoto Station remains the key hub for Shinkansen, JR, subway, airport bus, local bus, and taxi connections.

This is a straightforward business-hotel-style stay rather than a traditional Kyoto inn or heritage-focused base. Its strengths are Kintetsu Jujo access, the ability to walk to Toji, road access from Kyoto Minami IC and Kamitoba IC, and enough on-site facilities to support business trips, group travel, and sightseeing stays.

Rooms

Room types include singles, Hollywood twins, moderate twins, triples, universal twins, and Japanese-style rooms. Singles measure 13.4 square meters and have one 140 cm bed, while twin options include 17.7-square-meter Hollywood twins and 21.6-square-meter moderate twins with separate bath and toilet areas.

The range gives the hotel more flexibility than a basic single-room business hotel. Triple rooms and Japanese-style rooms can work for small groups or families, while universal twins provide an accessible option. Rooms include free Wi-Fi, wired LAN, individual air conditioning, an air purifier with a humidifying function, and adjustable ceiling lighting.

Facilities

Facilities are designed for an easy overnight stay. The hotel has a front desk, luggage storage, delivery support, cleaning reception, taxi arrangement, vending machines, coin laundry on the first and fourth floors, and a convenience store next to the property.

A public bath on the first floor is available in the evening and morning, with men's and women's bath hours listed as 15:00 to 25:00 and 6:00 to 9:00. The property also has meeting space that can be used by sports teams, training groups, and other group stays.

Parking is available for an extra charge by phone reservation, with 23 standard car spaces and one microbus space. Bicycle parking is also available, and guests with motorbikes should inquire by phone.

Dining

Breakfast is served in the first-floor breakfast venue. The daily Japanese and Western menu may include grilled fish, side dishes, rice, miso soup, bread, salad, coffee, and other drinks. Some direct reservations may include breakfast, while other stays may offer it as a paid add-on.

Dinner is not normally served at the hotel. Plan to eat before returning, use the neighboring convenience store for a simple meal, or confirm group-meal arrangements separately if traveling with a group.

Location and transport

Kintetsu Jujo Station is the closest rail stop, about five minutes away on foot. Kyoto Station remains the main transfer point for Shinkansen, JR, subway, buses, taxis, and wider city access. From the Hachijo Exit side of Kyoto Station, a taxi is often the easiest final approach when traveling with luggage.

For sightseeing, Toji is about 12 minutes away on foot. Gion, Higashiyama, Arashiyama, and other classic Kyoto areas will usually require a transfer through Kyoto Station or another rail, subway, bus, or taxi route.

Airport access

Airport access runs through Kyoto Station. From Kansai International Airport, take the JR Haruka limited express to Kyoto Station, then continue by local Kintetsu train to Kintetsu Jujo Station or take a taxi from the Hachijo Exit.

From Osaka Itami Airport, airport buses run to Kyoto Station, followed by the same local Kintetsu or taxi approach. A hotel-door airport shuttle is not part of the usual route.

Why stay here

Stay here when a southern Kyoto location, Kintetsu Jujo access, proximity to Toji, parking, or group-friendly facilities matter more than being directly beside Kyoto Station. It is a good fit for travelers who want a simple hotel with a public bath and breakfast, while still keeping Kyoto Station within reach for airport and Shinkansen connections.

Good to know

Do not confuse Kintetsu Jujo Station with Kyoto Municipal Subway Jujo Station. For this hotel, the walking approach is from Kintetsu Railway Jujo Station. If you are arriving with luggage, late at night, or in poor weather, taking a taxi from Kyoto Station's Hachijo Exit may be easier than transferring to Kintetsu for the final stop.
