Overview
For Shinjuku rail and bus connections, the south side is the key advantage of JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku. The hotel is about three minutes on foot from the South Exit of Shinjuku Station and Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal. It isn't directly connected to the station, but arriving on the correct side of the complex avoids an unnecessary cross-station walk with luggage.
The Yoyogi address places the hotel on a calmer edge of Tokyo-Shinjuku, away from the east-side nightlife streets. Kyushu craft details and a first-floor restaurant built around regional ingredients give an otherwise transport-focused stay a distinct identity.
Rooms
Rooms start at 18 sq m for a Standard Double and 19 sq m for a queen room. The 25 sq m Superior Twin adds a table and sofa, while the 30 sq m Deluxe Twin and 38 sq m Deluxe Hollywood Twin can accommodate a third guest with an extra bed.
Twin categories have bathrooms with separate washing areas. Two Premium Twin rooms occupy the 15th and 16th floors, facing Nishi-Shinjuku with a view bath and walk-in closet. The 25 sq m Universal Twin has wider aisles and carefully positioned switches and furniture. All rooms are non-smoking.
Facilities
A contactless luggage area on the lobby floor is available to staying guests at any time. It comes in handy before check-in, after checkout, or between an early arrival and an evening departure.
Coin laundries operate around the clock on the 6th, 10th, and 14th floors, while water servers are available on every guest floor. Drivers can reserve one of 28 spaces in the mechanical parking system, subject to vehicle limits.
Dining
Akasaka Umaya Shinjuku serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the first floor. Breakfast runs from 06:30 to 10:30, combining Japanese and Western buffet dishes with Kyushu ingredients and regional specialties.
Lunch and dinner continue the Kyushu theme through set meals, charcoal-grilled dishes, and seasonal ingredients. Private rooms are available when a business meal or quieter dinner calls for more separation.
Location and transport
The JR South Exit opens onto Shinjuku's broad rail network without placing the hotel inside the station. Exit 4 for the Toei Oedo and Shinjuku lines is about two minutes away, while the expressway bus terminal is roughly three minutes away on foot.
Each option serves a different purpose. JR is the main choice for Shibuya, Ikebukuro, and cross-city trips, the Toei lines add subway routes, and the bus terminal handles highway coaches. Tokaido Shinkansen journeys still require a transfer to Tokyo Station or Shinagawa Station.
Airport access
Narita Express trains run directly from Narita Airport to Shinjuku in about 1 hour 20 minutes, followed by the short walk from the South Exit. This is the clearest airport route for the hotel because it avoids a rail transfer.
Rail travel from Haneda Airport requires a change at Shinagawa. The Keikyu Airport Line takes about 15 minutes, followed by roughly 22 minutes on the JR Yamanote Line to Shinjuku. Limousine buses also serve the Shinjuku area from both airports, but they don't stop at the hotel door.
Why stay here
An early highway-bus departure, a luggage-heavy arrival, or a day split across Tokyo is easier to manage from Shinjuku's south side. Guest luggage storage, larger twin choices, and all-day dining add further convenience. The tradeoff is a street-level walk from the station and less immediate access to Kabukicho's nightlife.
Shinjuku Southern Terrace extends from the South Exit toward Yoyogi with shops and greenery, while NEWoMan and other south-side shopping stand beside the bus terminal. This side of Shinjuku emphasizes modern shopping and highway-bus connections rather than east-side nightlife, without giving up the district's transport reach.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 14:00, and check-out is by 11:00. Deluxe Twin and Deluxe Hollywood Twin rooms require a paid extra bed for a third guest. Drivers should reserve a space in the mechanical parking system and confirm the vehicle limits before arrival.
