Overview
Facing the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, Hyatt Centric Sapporo is scheduled to open in fall 2026 on the upper floors of Urban Net Sapporo Link Tower. Odori Station is six minutes away on foot, while Sapporo Station is a ten-minute walk. Underground passages connect the tower with both station areas.
The hotel's 216 rooms will occupy floors 17 to 26, above the street-level entrance and casual dining venue. Large windows will frame city, mountain, or red-brick landmark views, depending on the room category. The hotel isn't open yet. Reservations are available, but operating details may change before the first stays.
Rooms
Standard king and twin rooms measure 36 square meters, with city, mountain, or Red Brick Heritage views available. Every published standard category includes a bathtub and rain shower, while the king layouts also have a sofa bed.
Deluxe rooms increase the floor area to 43 square meters. The 73-square-meter standard suites add a separate living room and double sinks, while the largest 116-square-meter suites include living and dining areas, a kitchenette, and, in selected categories, a terrace. Compare the layout and outlook carefully, since the upper-floor rooms don't all face the same direction.
Facilities
Planned facilities include a 24-hour fitness center, laundry service, self-parking, meeting rooms, and room service. Digital check-in, digital keys, in-room Chromecast, and free Wi-Fi cover everyday needs.
The interiors draw on Hokkaido's landscapes, culture, and traditional crafts. This is planned as a modern full-service hotel rather than a compact station stay, with public spaces intended for local visitors as well as travelers.
Dining
Matsu Grill & Bar will occupy the 17th floor, serving Hokkaido ingredients cooked on a wood-fired grill with French techniques. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and separate bar service are planned, accompanied by broad city views.
At street level, Mr. Fish by Hyatt Centric Sapporo will focus on fish and chips with local and international variations. Its casual format will provide a simpler option for a quick meal between outings.
Location and transport
The hotel is in central Sapporo-Odori, between the city's main JR hub and its three-line subway interchange. Odori Station serves the Namboku, Tozai, and Toho lines. Use Sapporo Station for JR trains, airport rail, and longer journeys across Hokkaido.
Much of either walk can be made through the underground passage network, reducing time outdoors during snow or rain. The hotel isn't inside either station, however. If you're carrying heavy luggage, allow for the six-minute walk from Odori or the ten-minute walk from Sapporo.
Directly opposite are the red-brick former government office and its gardens. Odori Park is also close, putting the Snow Festival site, seasonal gardens, and downtown events within an easy central walk.
Airport access
JR Airport trains connect New Chitose Airport with Sapporo Station in as little as 33 minutes. From there, the final approach is a ten-minute walk using the connected underground route. Allow extra time to cross the station concourse and find the correct passage.
Odori Station doesn't have direct airport rail. Reaching it from the airport requires a subway transfer at Sapporo, so walking from the JR station is often simpler when luggage is manageable.
Why stay here
Staying here keeps Odori sightseeing and Sapporo's JR platforms accessible without committing to one side of downtown. The 36-square-meter standard rooms provide breathing room for a longer stay, while two dining venues and a 24-hour gym reduce the need to plan every meal or workout elsewhere.
The easiest nearby outing requires no train. Begin at the red-brick government building across the street, then continue toward Odori Park and the Clock Tower. For destinations farther away, all three subway lines are available at Odori.

The advertised underground access refers to the wider pedestrian network, not a hotel entrance beside the train gates. Room views also vary by category, so book a named Red Brick Heritage or mountain-view room if that outlook matters.
