Overview
Across from the Kanazawa Port Exit of Kanazawa Station, Hyatt Centric Kanazawa is about a two-minute walk from the rail hub. Its 253 rooms, locally inspired interiors, two dining venues, and 24-hour fitness center give the hotel more depth than a simple overnight stop.
The hotel is on the west side of the Kanazawa Station Area, close to trains, taxis, and the Komatsu Airport bus. Most sightseeing buses leave from the east side, however, and the historic districts aren't outside the door.
Rooms
The hotel has 253 rooms, including seven suites. Standard king and twin rooms measure 32 square meters. Both include a sleeper sofa and a bathroom with separate bathtub and shower areas. There's enough room to unpack and settle in for more than a quick overnight.
Deluxe rooms increase the floor area to 38 square meters, while premium rooms measure 46 square meters. City-view categories are also available. Space and outlook vary enough to merit a careful comparison, especially for shared rooms or stays of several nights.
Facilities
The 24-hour fitness center accommodates workouts around early departures and late returns. Four event spaces can be combined or divided for meetings and private functions.
Dining
FIVE – Grill & Lounge serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with dishes centered on ingredients from Hokuriku. Between meals, the same space serves coffee, light food, and drinks, which is handy when you return without a separate dining plan.
RoofTerrace Bar occupies the 14th floor, with indoor seating and an outdoor terrace. Cocktails and local bites provide a distinct evening option without requiring another trip across the city.
Location and transport
For rail arrivals, use the Kanazawa Port Exit, also called the West Exit; it is about two minutes away on foot. Kanazawa Station handles Hokuriku Shinkansen services and regional rail, so the short walk is particularly helpful with luggage, an early train, or a late arrival.
For sightseeing, cross the concourse to the Kenrokuen Exit on the east side. The Kanazawa Loop Bus departs from there for Omicho Market, the castle-and-garden area, and the chaya districts. Taxis are a straightforward alternative when rain, luggage, or limited time makes the bus less appealing.
Airport access
Komatsu Airport limousine buses serve Kanazawa Station West Gate rather than the hotel door. The hotel is on the same side of the rail complex, which keeps the final walk short, but you'll still need to check the current timetable against your flight.
There is no direct airport rail service to Kanazawa Station. A train-based route still requires a separate road connection between the airport and Komatsu Station.
Why stay here
Shinkansen arrivals, early trains, and luggage-heavy departures are easier to manage here. The 32-square-meter standard rooms and two dining venues also support stays longer than a single transit night. The tradeoff is the extra bus ride, taxi trip, or walk needed to reach most of Kanazawa's historic sights.
Kanazawa Station has shops, restaurants, and a tourist information center that sells one-day bus passes and handles same-day baggage delivery. Cross to the east side for loop buses to Omicho Market, Kenrokuen, and the chaya districts.
Good to know
The station's two exits serve different parts of the trip. The Kanazawa Port Exit on the west side is closest to the hotel and airport bus, while the Kenrokuen Exit on the east side has the main sightseeing bus loop and Tsuzumi-mon Gate. Allow a little extra time to cross the concourse when those buses are part of your plan.
