Overview
Separate men's and women's public baths and a Hiroshima-focused breakfast give Hotel Hokke Club Hiroshima more character than its compact rooms might suggest. In Nakamachi, it's close to Hiroshima-Peace Boulevard, about three minutes from Fukuro-machi Station and ten minutes on foot from Peace Memorial Park.
Central Hiroshima is easy to explore from here without relying on taxis. Reaching the hotel from Hiroshima Station still requires a streetcar or bus ride, and there are fewer places to linger inside than at a full-service hotel.
Rooms
Room categories include Single, Semi-double, Double, and Twin. Single and Semi-double rooms share the same 11-square-metre layout and 120-centimetre bed, although the Semi-double accommodates two people. The 13-square-metre Double has a 140-centimetre bed, while the 16-square-metre Twin provides two 120-centimetre beds.
The rooms are compact. Solo guests have the simplest choice, while two people with larger luggage will usually find the Twin easier to manage than the Semi-double. Wi-Fi, bright ceiling lighting, and a work desk support straightforward business stays.
Facilities
The guest-only artificial hot-spring baths are open from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM and again from 6:00 to 9:00 AM. The women's bath uses a daily access code, and tattoos aren't permitted in either bath.
A coin laundry is on the second floor. On check-in and checkout days, the first-floor self-cloak area is available from 6:00 AM to midnight, so luggage can be left while sightseeing outside room hours. The mechanical car park has 60 spaces, operates on a first-come basis, and has vehicle-size limits.
Dining
Hanamomi serves a Japanese and Western breakfast buffet from 6:30 to 10:00, with last entry at 9:30. Hiroshima dishes such as okonomiyaki and gansu appear alongside standard breakfast items.
Breakfast is available only to registered hotel guests, and the restaurant opens only in the morning. Lunch and dinner require going out, but restaurants around Fukuromachi and Hondori keep that tradeoff manageable.
Location and transport
Route 1 streetcars run from Hiroshima Station to Fukuro-machi in about 20 minutes, followed by a three-minute walk. The Eki-Machi Loop bus reaches Shirakamisha-mae in roughly 10 minutes, leaving a short final walk to the hotel.
Peace Memorial Park is about ten minutes away on foot. Fukuromachi and the Hondori shopping streets lie to the north, so the memorial district, downtown restaurants, and shopping can all be covered from the same central stay.
Airport access
From Hiroshima Airport, take the limousine bus to Hiroshima Bus Center. The bus journey takes about 50 minutes, followed by a walk of roughly 10 minutes to the hotel.
This isn't a hotel-door service. The final section is outdoors, and the return journey requires enough time to walk back to the bus center and locate the airport platform.
Why stay here
A public bath after a day on foot and a local breakfast the next morning are the clearest reasons to stay. Fukuro-machi's streetcars and the short walk to Peace Memorial Park also make the central location easy to use.
The tradeoffs are clear: rooms are compact, Hiroshima Station requires a local transfer, and there is no lunch or dinner service in the building. Couples carrying substantial luggage should compare the Twin carefully rather than assume the Semi-double will be comfortable.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 10:00 AM. Public-bath access is limited to the published morning and evening periods, and the tattoo restriction applies even to small tattoos or those covered with stickers.
The hotel isn't connected to Fukuro-machi Station. The station approach, the walk to Peace Memorial Park, and the final leg from Hiroshima Bus Center are all outdoors.
