Overview
For trips spanning northern and southern central Osaka, Hotel Cordia Osaka Hommachi offers a convenient midpoint in Osaka-Honmachi. It's five minutes on foot from Honmachi Station, where the Midosuji Line runs directly to Shin-Osaka Station, Umeda, Shinsaibashi, Namba, and Tennoji. Midosuji itself is also nearby.
The hotel has 101 rooms, each combining individual Japanese artwork with its own lighting and interior design. The range extends from compact doubles to a Premier room for up to six guests, covering solo visits, couples, families, and small groups that prefer to share one room.
Rooms
Smart rooms start at 17 square metres. Select, Basic, and Universal rooms measure 20 square metres, and these categories accommodate up to two guests with shower booths rather than bathtubs. Basic rooms come in double and twin layouts, so two guests can choose the bed arrangement that suits them.
Larger categories add both space and flexibility. Comfort rooms measure 30 square metres and sleep up to three, while Grande rooms provide 37 square metres with twin beds and a sofa bed. The 40-square-metre Premier has a separate living room, two wide beds, a sofa bed, and an extra bed for a maximum of six guests. Comfort, Grande, and Premier rooms are the options to consider when a bathtub or sofa bed matters.
Facilities
The first-floor lobby has a complimentary soda bar for guests, serving sparkling water and fruit-vinegar drinks. Coin laundry, vending and ice machines, and a microwave are grouped on the sixth floor. They're handy during longer stays or when you want a simple late-night meal. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
All guest rooms are non-smoking, and a designated smoking room is on the sixth floor. In-room equipment includes coffee machines, steam irons, and air purifiers, while additional loan items are available from the front desk.
Dining
Café itutu occupies the first floor and serves breakfast from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with last orders at 10:30 AM. Breakfast pairs a made-to-order main dish with self-service drinks, yogurt, and seasonal fruit.
Lunch and café service runs from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with last orders at 5:00 PM. The café is normally closed on Mondays unless the Monday is a public holiday. After regular service ends, staying guests may use the restaurant as a free space.
Location and transport
Exit 4 of Honmachi Station is about five minutes away on foot. The station brings together the Midosuji, Chuo, and Yotsubashi lines. Direct north-south trains serve Shin-Osaka, Umeda, Shinsaibashi, Namba, and Tennoji, while east-west routes run toward the Osaka Castle side and Osaka Bay.
Midosuji is a short walk east, and Utsubo Park lies west of the station area. Its rose garden and tree-lined paths provide a calmer break from the surrounding office streets. On the other side of Honmachi, Semba's covered shopping streets and basement restaurants continue toward Shinsaibashi.
Airport access
From Kansai International Airport, one option is to take the Nankai Airport Express or Rapi:t to Namba and change to the Midosuji Line for Honmachi. Alternatives include a JR airport train via Tennoji or an airport bus via Umeda, followed by the Midosuji Line. Every route ends with the five-minute walk from Exit 4.
From Osaka International Airport at Itami, the published routes use either the monorail to Senri-Chuo followed by the Midosuji Line, or an airport bus to the Umeda area before continuing by subway. There is no direct hotel-door airport service.
Why stay here
Direct Midosuji Line trains simplify trips to Shin-Osaka, Umeda, Shinsaibashi, and Namba without requiring a change. The broader-than-usual room range is another advantage, especially when three to six guests would rather share a larger room than book separately.
Utsubo Park and the Semba streets add variety beyond the surrounding offices. You can spend the day using central Osaka's subway network, then return to a calmer neighborhood than the busiest parts of Umeda or Namba.
Good to know
Most room categories have showers only. If a bathtub is important, book a Comfort, Grande, or Premier room and check the exact bed layout, since occupancy and bedding vary by category.
There is no dedicated parking. The entrance is locked after midnight, so guests returning late need their room key to re-enter.
