Overview
Early trains and luggage-heavy arrivals are easier here. Hotel Associa Shizuoka is about two minutes from the Tokaido Shinkansen gates and about a minute from the North Exit of Shizuoka Station, a short transfer for trips planned around train times.
Several restaurants and event spaces give the hotel the scope of a full-service city stay. Rooms range from compact singles to suites, and the category you choose makes a noticeable difference to space and comfort.
Rooms
Standard singles measure 15 square meters, while standard doubles offer 18 square meters. Many moderate and superior doubles or twins provide 27 to 30 square meters, with more room for luggage, work, or a longer stay.
Deluxe and luxury twins measure 45 square meters, and the two suite types reach 68 square meters. A 30-square-meter universal twin is also available.
Facilities
Meeting rooms, ballrooms, and wedding spaces occupy several floors, supporting conferences and organized gatherings near the railway. For an independent stay, the coin laundry and Lawson convenience store are likely to matter more from day to day.
Guest parking is available in an adjacent multistory garage. It removes the need to search for a separate city-center car park, although most rail travelers won't need a car for the immediate downtown area.
Dining
Breakfast at Pergola runs from 7:00 to 10:00. Its buffet combines Japanese and Western staples with Shizuoka seafood and tea, providing a local introduction without an extra morning stop.
Lunch and dinner bring more choice than many station-side hotels. Separate restaurants serve Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and teppanyaki cooking, while a 15th-floor bar offers city views in the evening.
Location and transport
The North Exit faces downtown Shizuoka, with local buses and taxis near the JR and Shinkansen gates. JR Tokaido Main Line trains serve local trips through the prefecture, while Parche and ASTY Shizuoka provide shopping and meals within the rail complex.
The wider Shizuoka Station Area is easy to explore on foot. Sunpu Castle Park is about 15 minutes north, and the Gofukumachi shopping streets and Shizuoka oden restaurants are on the same side of the tracks.
Airport access
Limousine buses run directly between the hotel entrance and Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport in about 50 minutes. This is a road connection rather than an airport train, and service depends on the current timetable.
Why stay here
The near-immediate transfer from the Shinkansen gates is the clearest reason to stay, especially before an early train, during a short business visit, or after arriving with luggage. Full-service dining and a broad room range add flexibility beyond the location alone.
Central Shizuoka begins on this side of the station. Sunpu Castle Park, Gofukumachi, and the oden streets around Aoba can be combined in a walk from the hotel, leaving buses or taxis for sights farther from the center.
Good to know
Entry-level singles and doubles are compact, so compare room categories if you need more luggage or work space. The larger twins and suites offer a substantial step up.
Parking uses the adjacent multistory garage and doesn't require a reservation. Check the latest airport bus schedule before relying on the stop at the hotel entrance.
