Overview
About a minute from Meguro Station's West Exit, Hotel Abest Meguro is in the Megurodo building, with reception on the third floor. It can be easy to miss if you're looking only at street level.
The location matters more than the facilities. JR, subway, and Tokyu services are close at hand, while the choice of solo and group rooms, plus a steak-centered breakfast, makes the simple setup more flexible than it first appears.
Rooms
Room choice matters. Singles and semi-doubles are compact, while doubles and twins provide more space. Triple rooms and four-person layouts allow a small group to stay together rather than split between two rooms.
The four-person layout has three single beds and one extra bed. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are separated by floor, so check the exact category before booking instead of assuming the entire hotel is smoke-free.
Facilities
The front desk is staffed around the clock, and luggage can be left before check-in or after checkout. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, while the fifth-floor coin laundry is handy for stays lasting more than a few nights.
Facilities remain modest. Guests can choose from a shampoo bar at reception, but there isn't a gym or spa.
Dining
Breakfast is served on the third floor from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM. It isn't a buffet. Guests choose grilled sirloin or chicken steak, accompanied by steak curry, changing Japanese side dishes, and self-service drinks.
Breakfast may be included in the room plan or charged separately. For lunch and dinner, the restaurants and convenience stores around Meguro Station provide far more choice than the hotel itself.
Location and transport
The West Exit is the clearest landmark when arriving by JR. Meguro Station serves the JR Yamanote Line, Tokyu Meguro Line, Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, and Toei Mita Line, providing direct rides to several parts of Tokyo.
The Yamanote Line reaches major stops such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, Shinagawa, and Tokyo. The Namboku and Mita lines add routes through central Tokyo, while the Tokyu Meguro Line continues southwest. That combination helps when your plans extend beyond Yamanote Line stops.
Airport access
Journeys to both Haneda and Narita airports require a transfer. For Haneda, take the Yamanote Line to Shinagawa and change to the Keikyu Airport Line. Shinagawa is also a workable transfer point for the Narita Express when traveling to Narita.
There isn't a hotel shuttle. The short walk from Meguro Station keeps the final leg manageable, but check current train times before an early flight.
Why stay here
Meguro simplifies days divided between Yamanote Line stops and central subway districts, while the short walk helps with luggage or a late return. In exchange, expect a straightforward stay with modest facilities and room categories that need careful comparison.
The wider Tokyo-Ebisu / Meguro area also places the Meguro River within reach. Its landscaped banks attract walkers and diners throughout the year, with the largest crowds arriving for the spring cherry blossoms.

Standard check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 10:00 AM. The hotel has no parking.
Reception is on the third floor rather than at street level. Confirm both the bed arrangement and smoking status, especially when booking for several people.
