Overview
Just two minutes on foot from Kanazawa Station's East Exit, Dormy Inn Kanazawa makes train arrivals and early departures easy while providing a proper place to unwind. Shinkansen and local trains handle longer journeys. Sightseeing buses and taxis leave from the East Gate, with shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel isn't directly connected to the concourse, although nearby commercial buildings provide partial shelter along the route in wet weather.
The top-floor natural hot spring distinguishes it from a basic city stay. The interiors add another point of interest: this was the first Dormy Inn designed around an art-led concept, with works displayed throughout the building.
Rooms
Rooms range from a 12-square-metre economy single and a 14.8-square-metre double to queen and twin layouts. The standard twin measures 21.9 square metres, while a 25.5-square-metre twin adds a sofa bed for a third guest.
Japanese-Western rooms provide the most flexibility for groups. The 25-square-metre layout sleeps up to four, and the 30-square-metre version accommodates up to five with twin beds and futons. Most categories use Simmons beds, but space and occupancy vary enough that it's worth checking the exact layout before booking.
Facilities
The bath is the standout. Separate men's and women's bathing areas on the 14th floor use natural sodium chloride spring water drawn from 1,200 metres below ground. Both sides have an indoor bath, open-air bath, reclining baths, a high-temperature dry sauna with automatic steam, and a chilled water bath.
Laundry machines are on the same floor, including machines inside the women's changing area. Guests also have access to a manga corner and paid massage service. The hotel's mechanical car park is paid, first come first served, and subject to vehicle-size limits.
Dining
Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet at Cafe and Lounge Oasis. Local highlights include a build-your-own seafood rice bowl and Hanton rice, a Kanazawa dish combining rice, omelette, fried fish, and sauce. Small side dishes and cooked-to-order egg dishes complete the spread.
Complimentary light soy sauce ramen is served nightly from 9:30 to 11:00. Ice cream is available after an afternoon or evening bath, while a probiotic drink is offered in the morning. These extras are modest, but they're timed well for guests returning from sightseeing.
Location and transport
The Kanazawa Station Area favors easy arrivals over historic atmosphere. Motenashi Dome and Tsuzumi-mon Gate mark the East Exit, while Kanazawa Forus and Kanazawa Hyakubangai provide nearby shopping and dining. This location is especially convenient for an early train, a late arrival, or an itinerary involving repeated day trips.
Kanazawa's headline sights aren't immediately outside the hotel. The Loop Bus leaves from the East Gate and serves Omicho Market, Higashi Chaya District, Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle, and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. Omicho Market is also about 15 minutes on foot from the East Exit, so you can walk when the weather cooperates.
Airport access
Buses for Komatsu Airport depart from the West Gate. Reaching them from the hotel requires crossing through the station concourses from the East Exit side. This is a nearby airport connection rather than a hotel shuttle, and timetables change with flight schedules, so check the current departure before traveling.
Why stay here
The combination of a two-minute station walk and a full hot spring bath is welcome after a long rail journey, before an early departure, or between day trips. Larger Japanese-Western rooms also give families and small groups an alternative to the compact singles and doubles common near major rail hubs.
The hotel is a convenient starting point for Kanazawa's sightseeing circuit. Buses connect the East Gate with Omicho Market, the castle and Kenrokuen area, Higashi Chaya District, and Nagamachi, while the station complex covers meals and shopping closer to the hotel. Stay here for easy transport and an evening soak, not immediate access to the historic streets.

Dormy Inn Kanazawa is very close to the East Exit but isn't directly connected to the concourse. Airport buses use the West Gate, sightseeing buses use the East Gate, and paid parking isn't guaranteed, so check which side you need before setting out with luggage.
