Overview
Opening July 31, 2026, Conrad Nagoya will occupy the upper floors of The Landmark building in central Sakae. The 170-room hotel brings the Conrad brand to Nagoya with large guest rooms, skyline views, extensive dining, and an entire floor devoted to wellness.
A direct connection to Nagoya Sakae Station places guests in the city's main downtown shopping and entertainment district. Nagoya Station is two stops away on the Higashiyama Line, keeping Shinkansen journeys manageable without making the rail complex the focus of the stay.
Rooms
All 14 room types measure at least 50 square metres and occupy floors 33 to 40. Deluxe rooms look across the city, Premium rooms add bathroom views, and Executive rooms include access to the high-floor lounge. Two accessible rooms are also planned.
Space isn't reserved for suites. Standard categories have a separate bathtub and rain shower as well as a work desk. The 29 suites include corner layouts of roughly 95 to 115 square metres, while the top-floor Conrad Suite reaches 213 square metres.
Facilities
The wellness floor on level 32 combines four private spa treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, an 18-metre indoor pool, and a fitness centre open around the clock. It is a considerably broader leisure setup than a straightforward downtown business hotel provides.
An executive lounge serves eligible room categories. Event facilities on the lower hotel floors include a ballroom, boardroom, and meeting spaces. The covered car park has 40 spaces, with paid self-parking, valet service, and electric-vehicle charging.
Dining
Six restaurants, lounges, cafes, and bars are planned across floors 31 and 40. Casa Oliva will serve Italian cooking at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while the upper floor adds separate sushi and teppanyaki restaurants and a rooftop bar overlooking Nagoya.
The 31st-floor lobby spaces will provide less formal options. Sundrop will serve food, drinks, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails, with live jazz planned at night. Songbird adds a cafe and terrace. Together, these venues cover everything from breakfast to a late drink without requiring guests to leave the building.
Location and transport
The hotel is in Nagoya-Sakae, directly connected to Sakae Station on the Higashiyama and Meijo subway lines. The Higashiyama Line reaches Fushimi in one stop and Nagoya Station in two. The Meijo Line serves Nagoya Castle, Kanayama, and other districts around its central loop.
Sakae has no JR or Shinkansen platforms. That matters before an early departure: the subway ride is short, but you'll still need time to transfer between the subway and long-distance trains at Nagoya Station.
Airport access
The hotel doesn't operate an airport shuttle. Central Japan International Airport is about 46 kilometres away, and the hotel's road estimate is roughly 45 minutes when traffic allows.
By rail, take a Meitetsu airport train to Nagoya, then change to the Higashiyama Line for Sakae. The direct station connection simplifies the final arrival, but the airport journey still requires a transfer. A taxi avoids the rail change at a substantially higher cost.
Why stay here
Rooms starting at 50 square metres, high-floor dining, a full spa and pool floor, and direct subway access give guests concrete reasons to stay in Sakae rather than beside the Shinkansen platforms. The tradeoff is one local subway ride for long-distance rail and airport-train connections.
Sakae's department stores and underground arcades surround the station. MIRAI TOWER and Oasis 21 define the northern side of the district, while restaurants and evening venues continue across the surrounding blocks. Much of downtown Nagoya is ready to explore as soon as you step outside.
