Overview
Rooftop bathing sets CANDEO HOTELS Tokyo Roppongi apart from the compact hotels around Roppongi Crossing. The entrance is about two minutes from Exit 3 of Roppongi Station, placing the Hibiya and Oedo subway lines within a short walk.
The bath is the defining feature. Rooms measure 16 to 20 square meters, so the main reason to stay is the combination of quick subway access, a top-floor open-air bath, and the restaurants and nightlife of Tokyo-Roppongi just outside.
Rooms
All rooms are non-smoking, with Simmons beds and raised sofas beside the windows. Executive Queen rooms measure 16 square meters, Executive Deluxe King rooms range from 18 to 20 square meters, and Executive Twin rooms measure 20 square meters. The twin layout accommodates up to three adults.
A 16-square-meter Queen room with a terrace adds private outdoor space, while high-floor king and twin categories mainly offer a higher position and different outlook. These are still compact city rooms. If floor space and room for open luggage matter, compare the 20-square-meter categories before choosing the smallest queen room.
Facilities
The guest-only SkySpa is open from 3:00 PM until 11:00 AM the following day. Both bathing areas have indoor and open-air baths. The men's area also has a dry sauna and cold-water bath, while the women's area has a mist sauna. Sauna service pauses between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
SkySpa use is included for hotel guests, including guests with tattoos. Towels aren't stocked in the bathing area, so bring them from your room. A coin laundry is available, and reception can hold luggage on the day of check-in or checkout.
Dining
A third-floor breakfast buffet runs from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, with final entry at 10:00 AM. The selection combines Japanese and Western dishes with fruit, baked goods, and lacto-ovo vegetarian choices.
There is no lunch or dinner service. That matters less in Roppongi, where casual food, late-night meals, and more formal restaurants are easy to find, but every evening meal requires leaving the building.
Location and transport
Roppongi Station serves the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and Toei Oedo Line. Exit 3 provides the shortest walk at about two minutes. Travelers who need an elevator should allow about three minutes from Hibiya Line Exit 4a or five minutes from Oedo Line Exit 7.
The Hibiya Line runs directly toward Ginza, Akihabara, Ueno, and Ebisu. The Oedo Line is useful for Shinjuku and Daimon, where travelers can change for Haneda Airport trains. Neither line provides direct JR or Shinkansen service, so longer rail journeys require a transfer.
Airport access
Airport travel relies on transfer-based rail or road transport rather than a hotel-door shuttle. From Haneda, one straightforward rail route uses Keikyu services to Daimon, followed by the Oedo Line to Roppongi. Journeys from Narita also require a change before reaching the Hibiya or Oedo Line.
Allow extra time with large luggage. Exit 3 gives the shortest walk, but the published elevator routes use different exits and take slightly longer.
Why stay here
A short walk from Roppongi Station and an overnight rooftop bath give the stay a simple rhythm: spend the day or evening around Tokyo, then return for a late soak. The tradeoff is compact rooms, breakfast-only dining, and no direct JR, Shinkansen, or airport service.
Roppongi combines late-night restaurants and clubs with major art venues. Roppongi Hills, the Mori Art Museum, and the National Art Center are part of the wider neighborhood, allowing a stay to blend exhibitions and shopping with evenings out rather than focusing only on transport.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. There is no hotel or affiliated parking, so drivers need to use a nearby paid lot.
Bring your room towels to the SkySpa. The baths remain open overnight, but the saunas close for four hours in the early morning. If you need an elevator, follow the longer Exit 4a or Exit 7 routes rather than assuming the shortest exit is step-free.
