Overview
From Exit 3 of Roppongi Station, it's a one-minute walk to APA Hotel Roppongi Ekimae in Tokyo-Roppongi. With both the Hibiya and Oedo lines close at hand, the main appeal is subway convenience in an active central district rather than spacious rooms or extensive leisure facilities.
The fully non-smoking building has 125 rooms designed for straightforward city stays. Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown, museums, restaurants, and nightlife are all nearby. There is no direct JR or Shinkansen service, however, and airport journeys require a transfer.
Rooms
Single and double rooms measure 11 square meters and have one 140-centimeter-wide bed. The bed, desk, television, and private bathroom all fit within a very small footprint. Space is the main tradeoff.
At 22 square meters, the Deluxe Twin is notably larger and has two 122-centimeter-wide beds. It gives two guests more room for luggage, while the standard categories are better suited to solo stays, short visits, or travelers packing lightly.
Facilities
Automated check-in and express checkout can shorten the front-desk process. Wi-Fi 6 and television casting cover in-room connectivity, while luggage storage and a paid laundry service help on longer trips. A microwave, ice machine, and drinks vending machine are available on the first floor.
Parking is extremely limited. The hotel's only reservable space is intended for a wheelchair user, so most guests should plan to arrive by subway, taxi, or on foot.
Dining
Soba Shiraishi on the first floor serves paid breakfast from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Rather than a buffet, breakfast consists of three Japanese set-meal choices based on soba, udon, or beef soup, accompanied by rice and small side dishes.
The fixed format is simple but less varied than a large buffet. For other meals, Roppongi has a broad restaurant scene ranging from casual late-night food to more formal dining.
Location and transport
Roppongi Station's Exit 3 is one minute away and serves both subway lines. The Hibiya Line provides the more direct route to Ebisu, Ginza, Akihabara, and Ueno, while the Oedo Line runs toward Shinjuku in one direction and Daimon in the other.
Those connections are convenient for sightseeing and evening plans across central Tokyo, but Roppongi isn't a mainline rail hub. JR and Shinkansen journeys require a transfer at another station.
Airport access
Airport access is by rail with transfers rather than a hotel-door bus. From Haneda Airport, the hotel's route uses the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho, followed by the Oedo Line from nearby Daimon to Roppongi. The published journey takes about 45 minutes, followed by the one-minute walk from Exit 3.
From Narita Airport, the suggested route uses the Keisei Skyliner to Nippori, the JR Yamanote Line to Yurakucho, and the Hibiya Line from the connected Hibiya area to Roppongi. APA estimates about 75 minutes, so allow extra time for walking between services and managing luggage.
Why stay here
The short subway walk is especially welcome after a late dinner, museum visit, or evening in Roppongi. In return for two useful subway lines and a central neighborhood, guests accept very compact standard rooms and few leisure facilities within the hotel.
Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Midtown anchor the district with shopping, dining, and cultural venues. The Mori Art Museum, Suntory Museum of Art, and National Art Center create a notable museum circuit, while restaurants, bars, and clubs keep the area active after dark.
Good to know
Tokyo Metro and Toei operate separate parts of Roppongi Station, although both use Exit 3 for hotel access. Check which line you need before going underground. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, checkout is at 10:00 AM, and general guest parking is not available.
