Overview
Air Terminal Hotel is located inside New Chitose Airport's Domestic Terminal, with entrances beside Arrival Gate 5 on the first floor and near Departure Gate E on the second. The front desk is on the third floor. Flights, JR trains, and most domestic-terminal services can be reached without leaving the airport complex.
That matters most before an early departure or after a late arrival. You can avoid a pre-dawn ride from Sapporo, sleep later, or reach your room after landing without going outside or boarding another train.
Rooms
The first choice is between runway and parking-lot views. On the runway side, options range from single rooms to a family room for four; the parking-lot side is limited to twin and triple layouts. If watching aircraft from your window matters, confirm that you've booked a runway-facing category because the view isn't standard throughout the hotel.
Rooms start at 20 square metres. The family room reaches 60 square metres and sleeps up to four, while selected twin and triple layouts accommodate up to three guests. A small group can stay together rather than automatically splitting across rooms.
Facilities
New Chitose Airport Onsen is a separate airport facility about five minutes from the hotel, not an in-house bath. Guests can use it without an extra admission charge during their stay after collecting a ticket from the front desk. Guest access runs from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. and again from 5:00 to 8:00 a.m., with final morning entry at 7:30.
Wi-Fi is available in the rooms and lobby, and the front desk stores luggage without charge before check-in and after checkout. A paid same-day laundry service is available, but there is no coin laundry or gym.
Dining
Breakfast is included for hotel guests. The third-floor restaurant serves a Japanese and Western buffet from 6:00 to 9:30 a.m., with final entry at 9:15. The early start suits many morning departures, although passengers on the first flights of the day may still need to leave before breakfast.
The restaurant closes after breakfast and doesn't serve lunch or dinner. Later meals depend on the airport's other restaurants and shops, which generally close between 8:30 and 10:00 p.m. If you're checking in near closing time, eat or buy food first.
Location and transport
New Chitose Airport Station is on B1F of the airport building, about five minutes from the hotel. Direct airport trains reach Sapporo in roughly half an hour, so an overnight here can be added to either end of a city stay without arranging a taxi.
Airport access
Domestic arrivals and departures are in the same building as the hotel. International passengers can remain within the airport complex but must follow the second-floor connecting route between the terminals. On the Domestic Terminal side, the hotel entrance is near Departure Gate E. Allow extra time when carrying luggage from the international side.
Why stay here
An overnight here removes one city-to-airport transfer before an early flight or after a late arrival. Included breakfast, runway-facing room options, and complimentary use of the airport onsen add comfort to a stay chosen mainly around flight timing.
With time before departure, you can eat Hokkaido seafood or ramen and shop for regional sweets without leaving the terminal. If several days of Sapporo sightseeing and evening dining are the focus, staying in the city until the final night avoids repeating the airport train journey.
Good to know
New Chitose Airport isn't open around the clock. The Domestic Terminal normally closes at 11:00 p.m., when the hotel's first-floor entrance is locked, but the hotel has no curfew. Late arrivals can call the front desk through the entrance intercom, while returning guests can use their room key. Terminal hours may shift with flight schedules.
The hotel has no private or affiliated parking. Airport Parking Area B is the closest option.
