Overview
For travelers combining Osaka Metro with Kintetsu trains, Tanimachi 9-chome Station serves as the subway counterpart to nearby Osaka-Uehommachi. It serves the Osaka Uehommachi district and gives hotel stays in the area direct subway routes across central Osaka.
Lines and connections
The Tanimachi Line runs north toward Higashi-Umeda and south toward Tennoji. The Sennichimae Line provides the more direct subway route to Nippombashi and Namba, so cross-city trips don't require returning to a larger terminal first.
Underground passages connect the station with Osaka-Uehommachi Station. Kintetsu's transfer guide allows about six to seven minutes between the operators' platforms, depending on which subway line you use.
Station area
Tanimachi 9-chome covers the western side of Uehommachi's transport district. Hotels and Kintetsu Department Store are concentrated closer to Osaka-Uehommachi, while the Tanimachi side leads toward older streets, temples, and shrines on the Uemachi Plateau.
What's nearby
Takatsu Park and Kozugu Shrine are near the station, while Shitennoji lies farther south along the plateau. Osaka International House and the Osaka-Uehommachi commercial complex are also within the wider area.
Good to know
This isn't the Kintetsu terminal itself. Allow several minutes for the underground walk when changing to Kintetsu trains or reaching a hotel attached to Osaka-Uehommachi Station.
