What this station is useful for

Overview

Hon-Kawagoe Station is the Seibu Railway station on the old-town side of central Kawagoe. It is useful for travelers arriving from the Seibu Shinjuku Line, staying at Kawagoe Prince Hotel, or starting a walk toward Crea Mall, Toki no Kane, and the warehouse streets.

Lines and connections

The station is on the Seibu Shinjuku Line and is numbered SS29. It is the Kawagoe-side terminal for Seibu Shinjuku Line services, including limited express trains from the Shinjuku side of Tokyo when the timetable fits.

Station area

Kawagoe Prince Hotel is directly connected to the station, and Seibu Hon-Kawagoe PePe is beside the station area. Crea Mall, central shopping streets, and walking routes toward Kawagoe's historic sights make the station useful for sightseeing as well as hotel arrivals.

Local access

Kawagoe Station on the JR Kawagoe Line and Tobu Tojo Line is about a 10-minute walk away. The warehouse streets and Toki no Kane are farther north, so travelers can walk, use local buses, take a taxi, or combine the station with a slower sightseeing route through central Kawagoe.

Good to know

Hon-Kawagoe Station and Kawagoe Station are separate stations. Choose Hon-Kawagoe for Seibu Shinjuku Line access and Kawagoe Prince Hotel; choose Kawagoe Station when JR Kawagoe Line, Tobu Tojo Line, Kawagoe Tobu Hotel, or Narita airport bus access matters most.
