Overview
From Kyoto Station's Hachijo side, the Shinkansen, Kintetsu trains, and airport buses are all within a short walk. Via Inn Prime Kyotoeki Hachijoguchi is two minutes on foot from the Hachijo West Exit of Kyoto Station, easing luggage-heavy arrivals and early departures.
The hotel isn't inside the station. Reaching it involves a street-level crossing, and the subway's Exit 6 is about seven minutes away. Gion and Higashiyama still require local transport, so this location favors train schedules over doorstep access to Kyoto's older eastern districts.
Rooms
All rooms are non-smoking, and the choice extends well beyond the compact 14-square-meter Single. Double, Twin, and Simple Twin rooms measure 17 square meters, while the Superior Twin provides 21 square meters.
The higher categories add space and more separated bathroom layouts. The 26-square-meter Deluxe Double, 28-square-meter Deluxe Twin, and 32-square-meter Triple have separate baths and toilets. As the largest option, the Triple has three single beds, with no sofa bed or rollaway needed when three people share.
The 25-square-meter accessible room has two single beds and bathroom handrails. Only one is available, and reservations are accepted by phone.
Facilities
A 24-hour 7-Eleven Heart Inn on the first floor is handy after a late arrival or before an early train. Self-service lockers in the lobby let guests retrieve their own bags, while the hotel also accepts luggage for collection on the day of check-in or check-out.
Paid washer-dryers are on the second and fourth floors. A 24-hour front desk, card-key elevator control, and locked entrance doors overnight cover the main arrival and security needs.
Dining
Breakfast runs from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, with last entry at 9:30 AM. The buffet centers on local vegetables and Kyoto-style obanzai, supported by rice, porridge, tofu, curry, and dishes prepared in the open kitchen. It's more substantial than a minimal continental spread.
For later meals, restaurants, food counters, and shops are close by on the Hachijo side and inside the station complex. The first-floor convenience store covers simpler meals and snacks when timing matters more than sitting down.
Location and transport
Within the Kyoto Station Area, the Hachijo side is the one to know for the Shinkansen, Kintetsu gates, and airport and highway buses. JR operates the Shinkansen, local lines, and Haruka airport train, while Kintetsu is useful for trips toward Nara. The subway provides direct travel north through Shijo and Karasuma Oike Station.
Check the operator and gate before arriving to avoid a long detour through the station. The JR and Kintetsu Hachijo West exits are closest to the hotel; subway travelers face a longer walk from Exit 6.
Airport access
The Haruka limited express connects Kansai International Airport directly with Kyoto Station in about 80 minutes. Airport limousine buses also arrive on the Hachijo side, with current schedules allowing roughly 85 to 90 minutes from Kansai Airport. Both options end with a short walk rather than a hotel-door stop.
From Osaka International Airport, also known as Itami Airport, limousine buses run directly to Kyoto Station's Hachijo side in about 50 to 60 minutes. Traffic can affect the journey.
Why stay here
A two-minute walk from the Hachijo West Exit simplifies early Shinkansen departures, Kintetsu day trips, and airport-bus arrivals. Breakfast, luggage lockers, and room choices for up to three guests support those plans, although reaching the hotel still requires a street crossing.
The surrounding district offers more than rail connections. To-ji lies southwest of the station, while Higashi Hongan-ji and Nishi Hongwan-ji are to the north. They give a spare morning or afternoon some local sightseeing value without requiring a trip across Kyoto.
