Overview
Via Inn Prime Hiroshima Shinkansenguchi is about three minutes west of the north-side Shinkansen Gate at Hiroshima Station. A tenth-floor public bath gives guests somewhere to unwind after the Shinkansen, with bullet trains and Hiroshima Airport buses close at hand.
The 246-room hotel is in the Hiroshima Station Area and is geared toward short stays built around rail travel. Compact singles suit solo trips and work visits, while larger king and twin rooms provide more space for couples and small groups.
Rooms
Via Inn Single and Single A rooms measure 13.7 square meters and have 140-centimeter-wide beds. The Via Inn Single adds an island desk and bench sofa, while Single A has a conventional work desk and chair. Double rooms measure 15.9 square meters and come with 160-centimeter-wide beds.
King and Standard Twin rooms are 20.9 square meters, with bathrooms separated from the toilet. The 27.2-square-meter Deluxe Twin can sleep three and uses the same separated layout, giving friends or a small family the most flexible option. All guest rooms are non-smoking.
Facilities
Momiji no Yu occupies the tenth floor and has an indoor bath plus a silky bath filled with fine bubbles. It opens from 6:00 to 9:00 and again from 15:00 until 1:00, leaving plenty of time for a soak after a late train.
Paid washer-dryers are on the same floor and dispense detergent automatically. Self-service luggage lockers are available near the first-floor lobby, and the front desk is staffed around the clock.
Dining
Breakfast is served at Komeda Coffee on the first floor from 6:30 to 11:00. Guests choose from five morning sets rather than a buffet. It's a simple option before a train, though it offers less variety than breakfast at some larger station hotels.
Komeda Coffee remains open as a cafe later in the day. Hiroshima Station and the surrounding blocks offer a much wider choice for lunch and dinner.
Location and transport
The short walk to Hiroshima Station is the hotel's main logistical advantage. Sanyo Shinkansen services cover long-distance travel, while JR lines support regional trips toward Miyajimaguchi, Kure, and other destinations around Hiroshima.
Streetcars and buses from the station serve Peace Memorial Park, Hondori, and central Hiroshima. These areas aren't immediately outside the hotel, so most sightseeing days begin with a local ride or a longer walk.
Airport access
Hiroshima Airport limousine buses run directly to the Shinkansen Gate side of Hiroshima Station. The bus journey is estimated at 45 to 50 minutes, followed by the three-minute walk to the hotel. Traffic and waiting time can lengthen the trip, and there is no hotel-door airport shuttle.
Why stay here
The tenth-floor bath is a welcome extra after a Shinkansen journey or a full day out. Solo travelers, couples, and small groups can keep rail and airport-bus connections simple, then slow down back at the hotel.
There are also worthwhile stops nearby between longer outings. Shukkeien is about ten minutes from Hiroshima Station on foot, while Ekinishi's small restaurants and bars cluster west of the South Exit. The station complex itself is convenient for Hiroshima food and souvenirs.
Good to know
The hotel is close to Hiroshima Station but isn't directly connected to it. The 13.7-square-meter single categories are compact, so compare the king or twin layouts if you need more floor space or have several large bags.
Guests with tattoos cannot use the public bath, and towels must be brought from the room. Standard checkout is at 10:00.
