Overview
About five minutes from Nagoya Station's Taikodori Exit, Via Inn Nagoya Shinkansenguchi keeps Shinkansen arrivals close to the JR and Aonami Line concourses. Guests can reach the hotel without first crossing to the station's busier east side.
This is a simple, room-focused stay in the Nagoya Station Area, with compact accommodation and a convenience store on the ground floor. It covers the essentials for a train-centered visit rather than providing the restaurants, lounges, or leisure facilities of a full-service hotel.
Rooms
Most rooms are compact. A 12-square-meter Single A has a 140-centimeter bed and accommodates up to two guests, while the 13-square-meter Via Inn Single is designed for one and adds an island desk with a bench sofa. The Economy Twin measures 14 square meters and places two beds in a tight layout.
Larger twin categories leave more room for luggage and companions. At 18 square meters, the Twin has a wood floor and a bathroom separated from the toilet. On the top floor, the 25-square-meter Family Twin can sleep three with an extra bed, and a 23-square-meter accessible twin is also available.
Facilities
The ground floor handles most everyday needs. An attached FamilyMart is open 24 hours, while the shared area has coin laundry, a microwave, vending machines, and an ice machine. Detergent is added automatically in the washer-dryers.
Reception is staffed around the clock, and a guest key card is required to use the elevator to the room floors. All guest rooms are non-smoking, with a designated smoking area on the first floor.
Dining
Breakfast runs from 6:30 to 10:00, with final entry at 9:30. Guests choose a Nagoya-style main dish, which may be a small hitsumabushi, ankake spaghetti, or wide kishimen noodles, then add salads and other items from a partial buffet.
Breakfast is optional, and the station complex and surrounding streets offer many alternatives. The attached convenience store is handy for very early starts.
Location and transport
JR Nagoya Station's Taikodori Exit and the Aonami Line are about five minutes away. This side of the station is the most convenient for the Tokaido Shinkansen, and regional JR trains are also within a short walk.
Other operators use separate parts of the rail complex. Meitetsu Nagoya is about eight minutes away, while Kintetsu Nagoya and the Higashiyama and Sakura-dori subway lines take about nine minutes. Allow extra time when changing operators, especially with luggage or during busy departure periods.
Airport access
Meitetsu limited express trains travel directly from Central Japan International Airport, also known as Centrair, to Meitetsu Nagoya in about 28 minutes. From there, the hotel is about an eight-minute walk through the wider Nagoya Station district.
The train journey is direct, but the hotel isn't connected to the Meitetsu platforms. Build the separate concourse walk into your plans rather than treating the published train time as door-to-door travel.
Why stay here
The Taikodori-side location simplifies Shinkansen arrivals, early JR departures, and rail day trips. Coin laundry, a convenience store downstairs, and breakfast from 6:30 support short stays and travel days without the scale of a full-service hotel.
Department stores and underground shopping around the station provide convenient options for meals and errands. Elsewhere in the wider district, Noritake Garden and the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology add ceramics, industrial history, and green space.
Good to know
The hotel is near Nagoya Station but isn't directly connected to it. Meitetsu, Kintetsu, and subway routes require a longer walk than JR and the Aonami Line because their gates are in different parts of the rail complex.
The smallest rooms have limited space for several large bags. Couples and travelers with more luggage should compare the 18-square-meter Twin and larger Family Twin rather than relying only on the stated bed capacity of a compact single room. Parking is limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
