Overview
Five minutes from Nagoya Station, The Royal Park Canvas Nagoya combines straightforward rail connections with a guest-only public bath, complimentary coffee in the lounge, and an on-site restaurant. It's on the Sakura-dori side of the Nagoya Station Area, about one minute from Unimall exit U10 while the underground mall is open.
Rooms
Room choice matters here. Compact Doubles measure 15.8 square meters and have a shower rather than a bathtub, while the 18-square-meter Double and Standard Twin add a modular bath. These smaller layouts are better suited to short stays with light luggage.
Larger categories offer noticeably more space. The 28.3-square-meter Deluxe Twin accommodates a third guest on a sofa bed and has a bathroom with a separate washing area. The 29.1-square-meter Dreambed Deluxe Double features a 240-centimeter-wide bed, while the 50.6-square-meter Suite has space for three guests. An accessible twin is also available.
Facilities
After a long rail journey or a full day out, the public bath is the standout shared facility. Reserved for hotel guests, it opens from 15:00 to 02:00 and again from 6:00 to 10:00.
The third floor also has coin laundry and a room where guests can borrow useful items. On the second floor, the Canvas Lounge provides complimentary coffee and seating for a break or some work. There's a convenience store on the ground floor.
Dining
Casual Dining Monsieur ITOH serves breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00. Its buffet combines familiar Japanese and Western choices with Nagoya dishes prepared with a Western influence. Lunch is served later in the day.
Hotel guests can use the restaurant seating as the Canvas Lounge from 10:00 to midnight. That gives early arrivals and returning guests somewhere to spend time outside their rooms, although restaurant service and lounge use follow separate hours.
Location and transport
The hotel is about five minutes on foot from the Sakura-dori Exit of JR Nagoya Station, the north ticket gate at Meitetsu Nagoya, and the municipal subway's central ticket gate. Each connection serves a different part of the trip: JR for the Tokaido Shinkansen and regional trains, Meitetsu for Centrair, and the subway for journeys around central Nagoya.
Unimall exit U10 is about one minute away and reduces the time spent at street level. The exit is available from 7:00 to 22:30; outside those hours, you'll need to use a street-level route. The hotel has no parking, though discounted rates are available at designated nearby car parks.
Airport access
Meitetsu's Mu Sky service runs from Central Japan International Airport, also known as Centrair, to Meitetsu Nagoya in about 30 minutes. From the Meitetsu gates, allow roughly another five minutes to walk to the hotel.
From Nagoya Airport, a direct bus reaches the Midland Square Mae stop near Nagoya Station in about 35 minutes. A short walk through the station district follows. Both estimates exclude waiting time.
Why stay here
The five-minute walk to JR, Meitetsu, and subway services simplifies early departures, Centrair transfers, and rail day trips. At the same time, the public bath and lounge provide more shared space than a basic station-side stay typically offers.
Beyond the station towers, Shikemichi preserves streets associated with Nagoya's former merchant quarter. Nearby Endoji mixes long-running shops with newer cafes and restaurants, offering a more local counterpoint to the department stores and underground malls around Nagoya Station.
Good to know
The hotel is close to the station but isn't directly connected to it. Unimall exit U10 helps during mall hours, but late-night and early-morning arrivals require a street-level walk.
The Compact Double is the tightest room category and has only a shower. If you're traveling with several large bags or want more room to unpack, compare the larger double, twin, or suite layouts.
