Overview
Direct access to Odawara Station is one half of the appeal; a natural hot-spring bath is the other. Tenseien Odawara Station Annex is part of Minaka Odawara on the east side of the tracks, about three minutes on foot from the concourse.
The hotel works especially well for travelers breaking a journey between the Tokaido Shinkansen and Hakone, as well as visitors who want Odawara Castle and city-center dining close by. It feels more complete than a basic station overnight, but still keeps early departures and luggage-heavy transfers easy to manage.
Rooms
Room types include singles, doubles, and several twin layouts. Published sizes start at 16 square meters in the tower and reach 49 square meters for deluxe twins, with some superior and deluxe categories able to accommodate a third or fourth guest. Certain moderate twin rooms also come with private open-air baths.
The separate Hatago rooms are in the lower-rise commercial wing of Minaka Odawara and are more compact, starting at 10.89 square meters. Because their location and layout differ from the tower rooms, check the exact room category before booking rather than assuming all rooms are similar.
Facilities
The guest-only bath on the 10th floor uses natural hot-spring water brought from Hakone-Yumoto. Both bathing areas have indoor and open-air baths, with a dry sauna on the men's side and a steam sauna on the women's side.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and a coin laundry is located on the 11th floor. Paid basement parking is available within Minaka Odawara, although spaces are not reserved for hotel guests and the overnight rate does not include unlimited in-and-out access.
Dining
Sky Dining on the 14th floor serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with wide views over Odawara and Sagami Bay. The breakfast buffet includes local dishes such as kamaboko, Odawara oden, and fried horse mackerel, making it an easy meal before a train day or sightseeing.
Lunch and dinner are convenient on-site options after a bath, a late arrival, or a day in Hakone. The restaurant is also on the same floor as Minaka Odawara's observation footbath garden.
Location and transport
The hotel is in the Odawara Station Area on the east side of the tracks. JR, Odakyu, Hakone Tozan, and Daiyuzan services are all available within the station complex, while the Tokaido Shinkansen gate is across the concourse on the west side.
This location is especially convenient for travelers arriving from Tokyo or western Japan and continuing to Hakone-Yumoto. Odawara Castle is about ten minutes from the station on foot, so it can fit naturally before check-in, after breakfast, or between rail connections.
Why stay here
Choose this hotel when the trip calls for both rail convenience and time to unwind. The hot-spring bath, wider room selection, and full-service dining add depth to the stay, while the station connection keeps Shinkansen and Hakone transfers close at hand.
Odawara also has enough character to make a stop worthwhile on its own. From the east side of the station, guests can reach the castle, city viewpoints, Sagami Bay seafood, kamaboko shops, and food traditions tied to the old Tokaido route.
Good to know
The covered passage through Lasca Odawara is not open around the clock. For early or late arrivals, guests may need to use the street-level route through Minaka Odawara, so check the hotel's access guidance if the indoor connection is important for your arrival time.
Hatago rooms are in a separate part of the complex. Room-attached open-air baths use heated water rather than the transported natural hot-spring water used in the main guest bath.
