Overview
A two-minute walk from Takayama Station puts early JR trains, reserved highway buses, and luggage-heavy arrivals within easy reach of SUPER HOTEL Hida Takayama. Breakfast and the evening welcome bar are included, and the old town is about 10 minutes away on foot.
Rooms are compact, but the natural hot-spring bath offers a welcome soak after sightseeing. It isn't continuously available: men and women use the bath during alternating time slots.
Rooms
Most room types measure 12 square meters. Standard and Extra rooms have a 140-centimeter bed, while Twin rooms have two 100-centimeter beds. All three categories accommodate up to two guests.
Super Rooms add a loft bed and sleep up to three. The 15-square-meter Triple Room also accommodates three by adding a sofa bed. Both layouts favor sleeping capacity over open floor space, so groups should choose carefully.
Facilities
The natural hot-spring bath is called Jinya no Yu. Its current schedule divides afternoon, evening, overnight, and morning use into separate windows for men and women rather than providing two continuously available baths. Check the times before planning a late return or early departure.
Paid coin laundry is available around the clock, with detergent included. Guests can also choose from several pillow types in the lobby while supplies last, a small but useful feature for rooms geared toward sleep and short city stays.
Dining
Free breakfast for overnight guests currently runs from 6:30 to 8:30. The daily buffet includes breads, organic vegetables, and regional dishes from Gifu. That short window favors an early start and leaves little flexibility for a late morning.
The welcome bar serves soft drinks from the afternoon, adding alcoholic drinks in the early evening before current service ends at 9:00. Think of it as a simple drink after sightseeing, not a full evening meal.
Location and transport
The Takayama Station Area location is the main transport advantage. Limited Express Hida trains run toward Nagoya and Toyama, while the neighboring bus center handles services to Shirakawa-go and the Okuhida hot-spring area.
Takayama's old town and morning markets are also within walking range. With the historic center about 10 minutes away, guests can go sightseeing without adding a separate local journey to the day.
Why stay here
Early trains and reserved buses are easier to manage from here, while the included breakfast and welcome bar simplify a short stay. The tradeoffs are clear: rooms are small, and hot-spring access is restricted by the alternating schedule.
Sanmachi, Takayama Jinya, and the morning markets can form part of a central walking day. Hida Folk Village requires a separate local bus trip, while reaching Shirakawa-go or the Okuhida area depends on highway or regional buses.
