Overview
Free breakfast and a lobby lounge that's open around the clock ease the limits of a compact city room. SONO Moon Nagoya is about eight minutes on foot from the Sakura-dori Exit of Nagoya Station, close enough for Shinkansen trips, airport trains, and travel around the city.
The hotel has 130 rooms in the Nagoya Station Area, near Yanagibashi Central Market and the shops and restaurants of Meieki. It isn't connected to the station, so the street walk remains part of every arrival and departure.
Rooms
Rooms are compact across all categories. The 13-square-meter Standard Single is the smallest, most double and triple rooms measure 15 square meters, and the Deluxe Twin and Universal rooms provide 17 square meters.
Check the bedding carefully when three people are sharing. The Superior Triple has one double and one single bed, while the family version combines a double with a trundle bed. The Universal room uses the same double-and-trundle arrangement in a more accessible layout.
Facilities
The lounge earns its keep. Open 24 hours, it has power outlets and a coffee machine, giving guests somewhere beyond the room to work, wait, or take a break.
Coin laundry and a luggage room cover important needs for a short city stay or a longer rail trip. A currency exchange machine, ice machine, and vending machine help with smaller errands.
Dining
Moon Bakery & Cafe serves complimentary breakfast from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM, with last orders at 9:00 AM. Bread and coffee provide a simple start before an early train or a day in the city.
Meieki has plenty of choices for later meals, both around the station and along the surrounding streets. Nearby Yanagibashi Central Market adds seafood vendors and places to eat, with the market at its liveliest early in the day.
Location and transport
The hotel is an eight-minute walk from Nagoya Station's Sakura-dori Exit. The station brings together the Tokaido Shinkansen, JR services, private railways, two subway lines, and the Aonami Line.
Knowing the operator helps. JR handles the Shinkansen, Meitetsu runs direct airport trains, and the subway is usually the simplest option for central Nagoya. Allow extra time if your platform is on the far side of the rail complex or you're carrying luggage.
Airport access
Direct Meitetsu trains connect Meitetsu Nagoya with Chubu Centrair International Airport. The fastest Mu-Sky journey takes about 28 minutes, though you'll also need to account for the walk from the hotel and time inside the station.
Mu-Sky requires a first-class ticket in addition to the regular fare. Meitetsu has separate gates from JR, so follow the operator signs rather than assuming the airport train leaves from the Shinkansen concourse.
Why stay here
Included breakfast, a round-the-clock lounge, and laundry facilities take some pressure off the compact rooms. That combination suits a Nagoya stopover or an itinerary built around train connections, provided the eight-minute street walk works for your luggage and schedule.
Yanagibashi Central Market gives the immediate neighborhood more local character than the station towers alone. Its early seafood trade and market eateries can easily become part of breakfast plans or a morning walk.
