Overview
A seven-minute walk from the north exit of Sapporo Station, SAPPORO HOTEL by GRANBELL combines convenient rail connections with upper-floor wellness and dining facilities. Its 605 rooms begin at 24 square metres, while the upper floors feature a natural hot spring, two types of sauna, a lounge, a gym, and a restaurant overlooking Sapporo.
The rail complex isn't attached. JR trains provide airport connections and routes around Hokkaido, while the Namboku and Toho subway lines cover central Sapporo sightseeing. The north-side location keeps the station close but places Susukino's restaurants and nightlife a subway or taxi ride away.

Eight room types range from queen and twin rooms for shorter visits to terrace rooms, junior suites, and larger corner layouts. Every room measures at least 24 square metres, and the largest corner suite spans 68 square metres and accommodates up to six guests.
Room choice matters here. Standard categories keep the emphasis on location and hotel facilities, while larger suites and corner rooms provide extra space, additional beds, and high-floor city views for guests expecting to spend more time indoors.
Facilities
The 25th-floor spa contains natural hot-spring baths, a semi-open-air bath, an auto-loyly sauna, a mist sauna, and an outdoor cooling area. Hotel guests can use the spa without an additional fee, including during guest-only early-morning hours. Day visitors are admitted during the main afternoon and evening session.
One floor above, a spa lounge and small fitness gym extend the wellness facilities. Coin laundry, self check-in kiosks, currency exchange, parking, and a first-floor convenience store cover everyday needs during the stay.
Dining
Breakfast is a buffet of more than 70 dishes, combining live-kitchen items with Hokkaido specialties such as seafood bowls and soup curry. The first-floor venue reopens as a cafe later in the day.
MoonLight Hokkaido Bistro & Bar occupies the 26th floor, serving dinner and drinks with panoramic city views. It's the main option for an evening meal without leaving the hotel.
Location and transport
The hotel is about seven minutes on foot from both JR Sapporo Station's north exit and subway Exit 16. JR services are the main advantage for airport trips and travel elsewhere in Hokkaido, while the Namboku and Toho lines are more convenient for Odori, Susukino, and other parts of central Sapporo.
The Sapporo Clock Tower, Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, Nijo Fish Market, and Odori Park are within walking or short-transit range. The north-of-the-tracks location keeps rail connections close but leaves the busier evening streets farther south.
Airport access
JR Rapid Airport trains travel from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station in about 40 minutes. From the north exit, reaching the hotel requires the same seven-minute walk as other rail arrivals.
There is no hotel-door airport shuttle. The route remains simple, but travelers with heavy luggage should allow for the outdoor walk between the station and the hotel.
Why stay here
The short walk from Sapporo Station simplifies airport transfers, early departures, and rail trips around Hokkaido. Rooms starting at 24 square metres and the upper-floor spa make returning after a day out more inviting, though the location is north of the tracks rather than among Susukino's restaurants and nightlife.
Central Sapporo sightseeing still fits easily into the stay. The Clock Tower, Red Brick Office, Nijo Fish Market, and Odori Park can share a daytime itinerary, with the subway available when winter weather or tired legs make longer walks less appealing.
