Overview
An underground route connects RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima to Kencho-mae Station in Hiroshima-Kamiyacho, while Hiroshima Bus Center is beside the building. Together, they provide convenient local, regional, and airport transport from the heart of the city.
With 491 rooms, this is a full-service high-rise rather than a compact station hotel. Rooms are spread across three floor groups, eight restaurants and bars cover several dining styles, and both Hiroshima Castle and Peace Memorial Park are within walking range.
Rooms
Standard rooms occupy floors 14 to 25, Superior rooms are on floors 26 to 29, and Executive rooms are on floors 30 and 31. Choices range from doubles and twins to family layouts, connecting rooms, accessible rooms, and suites. Floor and category matter here.
The outlook changes with the side of the building. North-facing rooms look toward Hiroshima Castle and the art museum, while higher south-facing rooms look across the city toward the Seto Inland Sea. Superior-floor connecting rooms accommodate larger groups. Executive bookings include in-room check-in, a dedicated high-floor breakfast, later checkout, and health-club access.
The hotel isn't entirely non-smoking. Of its 491 rooms, 404 are non-smoking, so check the exact category rather than assuming the same policy applies throughout the building.
Facilities
The health club's central feature is a five-lane 25-metre indoor pool. A gym, sauna, baths, and relaxation room complete the eighth-floor facility. Most staying guests must pay, reserve in advance, and limit their visit to a two-hour session. Access is included with Executive Floor bookings.
It's a substantial pool, but not a complimentary drop-in facility with every booking. Age restrictions apply to children's use, and maintenance dates may affect availability, so check the rules for your stay.
Free Wi-Fi, a first-floor convenience store, and a laundry corner cover everyday needs. Concierge service, room service, and paid parking add further support. Numerous meeting and banquet rooms also make the hotel a familiar Hiroshima venue for business and events.
Dining
Eight restaurants and bars give guests unusual breadth for a city-center stay. Dining Luore serves the Japanese-and-Western breakfast buffet and all-day buffet meals, Chambord specializes in French courses, and Naniwa focuses on teppanyaki. Japanese, sushi, and Chinese restaurants complete the main dinner choices.
On the 33rd floor, Rihga Top combines dining, cafe service, and a bar with high views across the city. The dedicated Executive Floor breakfast is usually served here, although higher occupancy may lead to a different venue or format.
Location and transport
The underground connection to Kencho-mae Station provides the simplest local arrival. The Astram Line runs one stop south to Hondori and north toward Shin-Hakushima, where passengers can transfer to JR local trains. It doesn't serve Hiroshima Station.
From Hiroshima Station, streetcars on routes 1, 2, and 6 take about ten minutes to Kamiyacho-higashi or Kamiyacho-nishi, followed by a walk of roughly three minutes. A taxi is another straightforward option when you're carrying luggage.
Next to the hotel, Hiroshima Bus Center handles local, regional, intercity, and airport services. That range is especially helpful for journeys that don't fit neatly into the city's rail or tram network.
Airport access
Limousine buses run from Hiroshima Airport to Hiroshima Bus Center in about 55 minutes, leaving only a short final walk to the hotel. There is no hotel-door shuttle, and road traffic can affect journey times.
For an early departure, check the current timetable rather than relying only on the published travel time. Kencho-mae Station has no airport rail service; the adjacent bus center provides the convenient airport connection.
Why stay here
Central sightseeing, regional bus trips, and airport transfers can all be managed from one location, with full-service facilities and broad in-house dining for evenings when you don't want to head out again. Travelers focused mainly on early Shinkansen departures may still prefer Hiroshima Station Area.
Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome are reached on foot to the west, while Hiroshima Museum of Art and the castle grounds lie to the north in Motomachi. Shareo, Sogo, and Aqua are closer still for shopping.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. Those on the Executive Floor receive a later noon checkout, and parking is paid.
Compare the room's floor, view, and smoking status before booking. Health-club access, breakfast arrangements, restaurant schedules, and maintenance closures can also vary by room plan and date.
