The airport limousine bus handles the first part of the journey neatly. Services from Centrair stop at Nagoya Tokyu Hotel on arrival, although the return trip begins at Oasis 21. Once checked in, guests are about five minutes from Nagoya Sakae Station in one of central Nagoya's main shopping, dining, and business districts.
With 564 rooms and the capacity to host major events, this is a full-service stay rather than simply a place to sleep. Several restaurants and an executive lounge make evenings under one roof easy, while the fitness club provides a paid leisure option. The location favors Sakae over immediate JR or Shinkansen access. Those services are two subway stops away at Nagoya's main rail hub.
Rooms
Room sizes begin with 19.6-square-meter singles. Standard doubles range from 21.9 to 31.5 square meters, while standard twins measure 29.7 to 31.5 square meters. The larger twin layouts are especially flexible: a sofa bed or extra beds can increase occupancy to three or four. Families and small groups get more room than they would in a compact city double.
Superior rooms have similar dimensions but different furnishings and floor locations. A limited number of connecting twins are available, and selected layouts separate the bath and toilet. Executive-floor bookings include lounge access, while suites and a Japanese-style room cover stays that require more space or a different layout. Compare the room details, not just the floor name.
Facilities
The fifth-floor fitness club operates on an unusual split schedule. Hotel guests can use the gym free from 6:00 to 8:00, but there are no training staff, rental clothes, locker rooms, or towels during this session. You'll need to change in your room and bring a room towel.
Full club hours run later and add access to the indoor pool, sauna, lockers, and bathing facilities. Most guests pay a daily fee, while executive-floor guests receive access with their room. Nobody under 18 may use the club. Substantial meeting and banquet facilities, room service, same-day laundry, and parking reflect the hotel's role as a large business and event venue.
Dining
Montmartre's breakfast buffet pairs familiar morning dishes with local specialties. Ogura toast and miso cutlets appear alongside omelets cooked to order. For first-time visitors, the buffet is an easy introduction to Nagoya food without turning breakfast into a formal meal. Nadaman serves a Japanese breakfast, while room service is a quieter alternative.
The broader dining selection is one of the hotel's strengths. Guests can choose among formal French and Japanese meals, all-day dining, a spacious atrium lounge, a bar, and bakery purchases without leaving the building. That flexibility is welcome after a late meeting or whenever another trip across Sakae feels unnecessary.
Location and transport
Sakae Station's Exit 12 is about five minutes away on foot. The Higashiyama Line reaches Nagoya's main rail hub in two stops for JR trains, the Tokaido Shinkansen, and transfers to Meitetsu or Kintetsu services. The Meijo Line serves trips toward Yabacho, Kanayama, and other parts of central Nagoya.
Sakae itself has no JR or Shinkansen platforms. If you're carrying heavy luggage, a taxi from the main rail hub may be less tiring than a subway transfer followed by the final street walk. The distinction matters: the hotel is convenient for downtown plans, but it isn't connected directly to a railway station.
Airport access
Centrair limousine buses stop at the hotel when traveling from Chubu Centrair International Airport. No reservation is required, and the direct drop-off avoids changing from an airport train to the subway when the timetable matches your flight.
The return trip works differently. Nagoya Tokyu Hotel is a drop-off stop only, so airport-bound passengers must board at stop 9 beside Oasis 21. By rail, take the Higashiyama Line to Nagoya's main rail hub and transfer to a Meitetsu airport train.
Why stay here
A hotel-door airport arrival, larger twin rooms, and extensive in-house dining remove several small hassles from a Sakae stay. The tradeoff appears on departure and during rail-heavy days: Centrair buses don't collect passengers at the hotel, while JR and Shinkansen journeys require a subway or taxi connection to the main rail hub.
The surrounding Nagoya-Sakae district offers more than transport. Sakae is a downtown shopping and business center, with the cafes and shops of Oasis 21 near the landmark tower to the north. Restaurants and department stores keep the district active from daytime errands into the evening.
Good to know
The shortest route from Sakae Station uses stairs at Exit 12. An alternative route with a lift and escalator passes through the Chunichi Building, but it is unavailable when the building is closed and between midnight and 5:15. Check your route before arriving with a wheelchair, stroller, or heavy bags.
The fitness club isn't a standard free amenity for most bookings. Only the early gym session is complimentary for hotel guests; full access costs extra unless it's included with an executive-floor room.
