Overview
On the museum side of Osaka-Nakanoshima, Mitsui Garden Hotel Osaka Premier occupies a river-island setting between Umeda and central Osaka. The National Museum of Art, Nakanoshima Museum of Art, and Osaka Science Museum are nearby, while the surrounding offices make the location convenient for business in the district.
Watanabebashi Station is three minutes away on foot. Higobashi Station is a five-minute walk and provides direct Osaka Metro trains to Nishi-Umeda, Hommachi, and Namba.
Rooms
Rooms occupy the 3rd through 15th floors and accommodate up to three guests. Published examples begin with 22-square-metre double and queen rooms. The 31-square-metre triple has three separate beds, while the 48-square-metre Junior Suite Twin is the largest category shown by the hotel.
Wooden flooring and layouts separating the bath, toilet, and washroom recur across the room selection. Premier Floors occupy the 13th through 15th floors and include access to the top-floor guest lounge.
Facilities
The 16th-floor public bath is the standout shared facility. It uses an artificial carbonated spring and includes garden-facing elements, plus a pot bath in the women's area. The bath is free for staying guests and opens from 15:00 until 09:00 the next morning. It's available overnight.
A coin-operated laundry is also on the 16th floor. Premier Floor guests have exclusive access to Lounge Rivière, where drinks and snacks are served with views across Nakanoshima.
Dining
Seasons of Kyushu Hakata-Ro occupies the second floor and looks toward the park. Its Japanese and Western breakfast buffet centers on Kyushu dishes, including kara-age and chicken nanban, alongside more familiar morning choices.
Breakfast runs from 06:30 to 10:00, with final entry at 09:30. The restaurant also opens for lunch and dinner, a welcome convenience in a district where nearby choices become quieter after office and museum hours.
Location and transport
Watanabebashi serves the Keihan Nakanoshima Line, while Higobashi is on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line. Although close together, the stations have separate gates and belong to different networks. Watanabebashi is the shorter walk, but Higobashi is usually more helpful for direct trips to Nishi-Umeda, Hommachi, or Namba.
A complimentary hotel shuttle runs from JR Osaka Station, with the journey listed at about 15 minutes. Traffic can disrupt the schedule, and boarding depends on available capacity. For a timed departure, the train and walking route is more predictable.
Airport access
Neither Osaka airport has a direct train to the hotel. From Itami Airport, the hotel's directions use an airport limousine bus followed by either the hotel shuttle or the Yotsubashi Line. Routes from Kansai International Airport involve an airport bus or Nankai train, then a change to the Yotsubashi Line for Higobashi.
Both journeys are manageable, but each requires at least one transfer. If you're carrying heavy luggage, compare current shuttle and airport-bus times with the cost of taking a taxi for the final leg.
Why stay here
The quieter Nakanoshima setting puts the island's museums close by, while two rail approaches and the JR Osaka Station shuttle provide options for reaching the wider city. After sightseeing or meetings, the overnight public bath offers a place to unwind.
Premier Floors are worth considering if you'll use the lounge and prefer a higher-floor room. Standard rooms retain the same location and public-bath access without the added cost of lounge privileges.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 15:00, and check-out is at 11:00. The complimentary JR Osaka Station shuttle can fill up or be delayed by traffic, so don't treat it as a guaranteed connection for a reserved train.
Nakanoshima stretches several kilometres from east to west. The hotel is near the western museum cluster, not Nakanoshima Park and the Central Public Hall at the island's eastern end.
