Superior and Privilege rooms are available in double, twin, and triple layouts. The double and twin rooms measure 22 square meters, while the 25-square-meter triple rooms accommodate up to three guests.
Warm wood interiors incorporate Hida dyeing and Japanese washi paper. Guests in Privilege rooms also receive an afternoon free-flow drink benefit in the first-floor bar area.
Facilities
Indoor and open-air hot-spring baths occupy the top floor, normally opening in the morning and again from mid-afternoon until midnight. The open-air bath provides the broader view, while the indoor bath draws on Takayama's woodworking tradition.
Three private hot-spring baths offer an alternative to the shared facilities. Available for an extra fee in the evening, each 45-minute session can be requested at the front desk during check-in, whether you're traveling alone, as a couple, or with family.
Dining
Hobar serves breakfast and dinner, combining a Mediterranean approach with seasonal ingredients from Takayama. Next door, the bar highlights local drinks and original cocktails made with fruit and vegetables.
Guests aren't limited to eating on site. Restaurants around the station and in the old town are also within walking distance.
Location and transport
The four-minute walk to Takayama Station and the bus center simplifies both arrivals and day trips. Limited Express Hida trains connect Takayama with Nagoya and Toyama, while highway buses serve Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, and the Okuhida hot-spring area.
The old town is also close enough to explore on foot. Hotel guidance places it about seven minutes away, with the Miyagawa Morning Market about 10 minutes from the hotel.
Why stay here
Rooftop onsen time doesn't require sacrificing convenient rail and highway-bus access. Triple rooms accommodate small groups, while the private baths provide another option for guests who would rather not use the shared bathing areas.
Sanmachi's merchant townhouses and sake breweries begin within walking distance. Takayama Jinya and the morning markets bring local history and food into the same central day, while Hida Folk Village requires a separate local bus trip. This location supports both old-town walks and wider Hida outings.
Good to know
There is no on-site parking lot. Affiliated parking is about five minutes away, can't be reserved, and is available on a first-come basis. Private hot-spring baths cost extra and should be requested at check-in.
