Overview
A four-minute walk from Nagoya Station's Taikodori Exit places Meitetsu Inn Nagoyaeki Shinkansenguchi on the west side of the rail complex, close to the Tokaido Shinkansen and JR gates. Its 313 rooms start at 16 square meters, and every room has a bathroom separate from the toilet.
The west-side location is the main advantage. High-floor categories add city or train views, while breakfast from 5:00 AM, luggage storage, and coin laundry help when a short stay in the Nagoya Station Area revolves around train times.
Rooms
Moderate Doubles measure 16 square meters and have one 140-centimeter bed. At 24 square meters, Moderate Twins provide more floor space and can accommodate a third guest on a sofa bed, which may suit couples, friends, or small groups.
Superior rooms occupy floors 20 to 23. The doubles remain 16 square meters, while the 24-square-meter twins can also sleep three. Views vary by side of the building, looking toward central Nagoya, Nagoya Castle, the port, or nearby rail lines. A 24-square-meter Universal Twin adds wider circulation space and a bathroom with grab rails.
Facilities
Automated machines can speed up check-in. Free welcome drinks are available in the lobby, and the front desk holds baggage from the morning of arrival until the evening of departure.
Seven drum-type laundry machines are distributed across three guest floors. Microwaves, ice machines, and drink vending are available on separate floors. There is no hotel parking, so drivers need to use a nearby paid car park. The adjacent convenience store is handy, though it isn't directly connected to the lobby.
Dining
A paid set breakfast is served at the ground-floor Tonkatsu Matsunoya from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The 600-yen choices include pork cutlet, egg, and grilled-salmon sets, with a drink included for most options. That early start leaves time to eat before many morning Shinkansen departures.
Matsunoya remains open until 2:00 AM, so it can also cover a simple late meal after arrival. It is a tenant restaurant rather than a full-service hotel dining room.
Location and transport
JR Nagoya Station's Taikodori Exit is about four minutes away. The municipal subway and Aonami Line are roughly five minutes from the hotel, while Meitetsu Nagoya and Kintetsu Nagoya take about eight minutes to reach on foot.
Each serves a different journey. JR handles the Tokaido Shinkansen and regional trains, Meitetsu provides the airport route to Centrair, and Kintetsu serves travel toward Mie. The subway is usually the simplest option for Fushimi and Sakae. This west-side location favors JR and Shinkansen travel over the Meitetsu and Kintetsu side of the complex.
Airport access
Meitetsu's Mu-Sky runs directly from Central Japan International Airport to Meitetsu Nagoya in as little as 28 minutes. Passengers need a regular fare ticket plus a first-class car ticket.
From the Meitetsu gates, allow about eight minutes to walk through the station area to the hotel. The airport train is direct to Nagoya, but the final leg is on foot rather than a hotel-door service.
Why stay here
The short walk from the Taikodori Exit takes some of the strain out of Shinkansen arrivals and early departures. A separate bathroom and toilet in every room provide more usable space than a standard unit bath, while the high-floor views and 24-square-meter twin rooms give guests good reason to compare categories rather than booking on location alone.
Nagoya Umaimon-dori at the Taikodori Exit brings together local dishes, takeaway food, and souvenir shopping from breakfast into the evening. Department stores and underground malls elsewhere in the station complex add further options, so meals and errands can fit around a train schedule.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. The hotel is near the Taikodori Exit but isn't directly connected to Nagoya Station or the adjacent convenience store.
Several Meitetsu Inn branches operate in Nagoya. Use the full Nagoyaeki Shinkansenguchi name when checking directions, and don't confuse the four-minute JR route with the longer walk from Meitetsu Nagoya. There is no hotel parking.
