Overview
Bathing is the point at Laforet Ito Onsen Yunoniwa. Selected rooms draw the hotel's own hot-spring water into a private bath, while the shared facilities provide indoor and open-air bathing plus three family baths. This is a full onsen stay, not simply a bed near the railway.
Ito Station is about eight minutes away on foot. The central location also puts Orange Beach, Tokaikan, and the Matsukawa promenade within reach, so guests can explore the town between baths and meals.
Rooms
The hotel has 84 non-smoking rooms in three main styles. Japanese rooms and Japanese rooms with beds both measure 32 square metres and accommodate two or three guests. The first uses futons, while the second adds beds without losing the tatami-room layout.
Premium rooms with onsen baths measure 44.7 square metres and accommodate three to five guests. Each combines a Japanese room with a twin bedroom, and the private bath uses hot-spring water from the hotel's source. These rooms make the greatest difference for families, small groups, or anyone who wants to bathe privately without planning around the shared-bath schedule.
Standard checkout is at 10:00 AM, while premium onsen rooms have an 11:00 AM checkout. All rooms are non-smoking, with a separate smoking room elsewhere in the building.
Facilities
Kenshin-yu contains shared indoor and open-air hot-spring baths. The men's and women's sides switch daily, and the main bathing periods run in the morning and from midday until midnight. Tuesday through Thursday have later afternoon opening times. Overnight guests use the baths without an additional facility charge.
Three family baths provide a more private alternative. They're open around the clock, can't be reserved, and are free for staying guests whenever one is vacant. The main indoor and open-air baths use circulated hot-spring water, as do the in-room baths, while the family baths use free-flowing hot-spring water.
A coin laundry and microwave are helpful during longer stays, and parking is free for overnight guests. Beyond those basics, facilities stay centered on bathing rather than entertainment or fitness.
Dining
Shikisai serves a Japanese-centered breakfast buffet and Japanese kaiseki dinners. Seafood landed at Ito Port and other seasonal ingredients connect the meals to the surrounding coast. Breakfast begins at 7:30 AM, which won't suit a very early train departure.
Dinner normally requires advance planning, and the final seating is earlier than at a city restaurant. Room service and late-night dining aren't available. If your plan doesn't include dinner, arrange an outside meal before the evening rather than assuming food will be available on demand.
Location and transport
The outdoor walk from Ito Station takes about eight minutes. The hotel doesn't run a shuttle, and its FAQ states that there is no nearby bus stop, so walking or taking a taxi are the dependable options when carrying luggage.
The wider Ito Station Area brings the old onsen center, Matsukawa, Tokaikan, and the beach into the same stay. JR's Ito Line runs north to Atami for Shinkansen connections, while the Izukyu Line continues south toward Izu-Kogen, Kawazu, and Shimoda. Selected Odoriko services provide a one-seat journey from the Tokyo area.
Why stay here
A room with its own onsen bath changes the rhythm of a visit, especially for a family or small group that values privacy and flexible bathing times. Guests in standard rooms still have access to the large baths and three family baths. The eight-minute station walk keeps the experience compatible with a train-based Izu trip.
Central Ito adds a seaside town beyond the hotel doors. Orange Beach is around five minutes from the station, while Tokaikan and the Matsukawa promenade preserve the center's older hot-spring character. These nearby walks fit naturally before check-in, after breakfast, or between longer rail outings.
Good to know
In-room onsen baths are limited to the premium category. Standard Japanese rooms use the shared bathing facilities, and the three family baths operate without reservations on a first-come basis. Check the exact room label before booking.
The hotel doesn't run a shuttle, and no convenient local bus stop serves it. Bathing schedules change on Tuesday through Thursday, while dinner, day-use bathing, and restaurant hours can vary during busy periods. Confirm current details if a specific meal or bathing period is essential.
