Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Konansou is located beside Lake Kawaguchi in Fuji-Kawaguchiko Onsen, about a 10-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station. It works well for travelers who want a ryokan stay with lake scenery, Mount Fuji views, hot-spring bathing, and manageable access to trains, buses, taxis, and local sightseeing routes.

This is not a simple station-front hotel. The appeal is the lakeside onsen setting, with Kawaguchiko Station still close enough to make arrival and onward travel straightforward even without a car.

Rooms

Konansou has 50 guest rooms, with categories on both the Lake Kawaguchi side and the Mount Fuji side. Layouts include Japanese-style and Japanese-Western rooms, and some categories add private open-air hot-spring baths, semi-open-air baths, scenic-view baths, or sauna features.

Room choice matters here more than it would at a standard business hotel. For many visitors, the key decision is whether a specific view, private bath, or more spacious ryokan-style layout is part of the experience they want.

Facilities

The onsen facilities include large public baths with adjoining open-air baths, private reservable baths, and a rooftop footbath for staying guests. The rooftop footbath makes especially good use of the inn’s position between the lake, open sky, and Mount Fuji scenery.

Other facilities include Tea Lounge Konoha overlooking Lake Kawaguchi, a souvenir shop, banquet and dining rooms, parking, and standard ryokan services. Drivers can use the prefectural parking lot across from the inn, with free parking listed for up to 40 vehicles.

Dining

Dinner centers on Japanese kaiseki, with in-room dining available for smaller parties on eligible plans. Parties of five or more are generally guided to banquet hall dining, so the meal setting may depend on group size and reservation details.

Breakfast is served at the third-floor buffet restaurant and includes Japanese and Western dishes. Children’s and infant meal options are also available, which can make the ryokan format easier for families.

Location and transport

Konansou is in the Kawaguchiko Station Area of Fujikawaguchiko, near Lake Kawaguchi rather than directly beside the platforms. The walk from Kawaguchiko Station takes about 10 minutes, and the hotel offers a free pickup shuttle from the station during afternoon and evening pickup hours when guests call after arriving.

By car, the hotel is about 10 minutes from the Kawaguchiko Interchange. That makes it a workable choice for both public-transport arrivals through Kawaguchiko Station and car-based Fuji Five Lakes itineraries.

Airport access

Airport access is transfer-based rather than direct to the hotel. Most travelers reach the area via Tokyo-side rail or highway bus routes to Kawaguchiko Station, then continue on foot, by taxi, or by the hotel pickup shuttle during service hours.

If you are arriving late or traveling with heavy luggage, check the shuttle pickup hours in advance so you can decide whether to walk or take a taxi from the station.

Why stay here

Choose Konansou if you want a Fuji Five Lakes stay that feels like a lakeside onsen ryokan rather than a transport-focused hotel. It is best suited to travelers looking for Lake Kawaguchi scenery, Mount Fuji views, hot-spring baths, kaiseki dining, and convenient access to Kawaguchiko Station without staying directly at the station.
