Overview
Cross the road from Motomachi Station's East Exit and you'll reach Kobe Plaza Hotel. Nankinmachi and the Former Foreign Settlement are around three minutes away, while Meriken Park is about a ten-minute walk through Kobe Motomachi / Nankinmachi.
With 138 rooms and a lounge reserved for guests, this is a compact city stay shaped by its central location. Standard doubles and twins are small, but larger categories provide more space for couples, friends, and three-person stays.
Rooms
Nine non-smoking room categories range from 15-square-metre moderate doubles to a 28-square-metre executive suite. Moderate and superior doubles or twins cover most short stays, while comfort queen, comfort twin, and executive twin rooms can accommodate a third guest on a sofa bed.
The 23-square-metre accessible double has a step-free layout. Executive twins add a separate bath, washbasin, and toilet, while the executive suite has a larger bathroom. If floor space matters, look beyond the 15- to 20-square-metre categories.
Facilities
The guest-only Azzurro lounge is open around the clock from check-in until checkout. Complimentary coffee, tea, water, and selected cold refreshments are available alongside Wi-Fi and power outlets, so there's somewhere to plan the day or catch up on work. A paid self-service wine dispenser operates during the afternoon and evening.
Coin laundry is on the ninth floor, and room televisions show whether the machines are in use. Luggage storage is available on arrival and departure days. There is no spa.
Dining
Breakfast at The Rosso combines a Japanese or Western main set with a buffet featuring freshly baked pastries and rice with sea-bream broth. Service runs from 7:00 to 9:30, although the format may change to a full buffet on some days.
The building also contains a spiny-lobster restaurant and a ground-floor cafe. Nankinmachi begins a few minutes away, so dinner doesn't have to depend on the hotel's dining options.
Location and transport
JR and Hanshin Motomachi are both about one minute away, but the operators use separate gates and tickets. JR Kobe Line trains run east to Sannomiya and Osaka or west toward Kobe and Himeji. Hanshin provides another east-west route through its private-rail network.
Nankinmachi, Motomachi Shopping Street, and the Former Foreign Settlement are closest to the hotel. Meriken Park and the harbor are farther south, but still near enough to reach on foot without taking a local train.
Airport access
From Kobe Airport, the Port Liner reaches Sannomiya in about 18 minutes. Continue one stop by JR to Motomachi, then cross from the East Exit to the hotel. There is no direct airport train or hotel shuttle.
Limousine buses from Kansai International Airport and Osaka Itami Airport also serve Sannomiya. The final leg is one JR stop or a taxi, so both journeys remain transfer-based rather than hotel-door services.
Why stay here
The one-minute station walk is the clearest advantage, particularly with luggage or an early train. Nankinmachi and the historic commercial streets are also close. In return, expect compact standard rooms, transfer-based airport journeys, and off-site parking.
Nankinmachi brings restaurants, shops, and street food into the immediate neighborhood. From there, the Former Foreign Settlement and the route south to Meriken Park create an easy walk from historic streets to the waterfront.
Good to know
The hotel faces Motomachi Station but isn't connected to it. Check whether your train uses JR or Hanshin before following the signs, since the two operators have separate gates despite sharing the station name.
Parking is in nearby paid garages rather than on site. The partner garages have opening hours and vehicle-size limits, don't accept reservations, and may be full when you arrive.
