Overview
In the skyscraper district of west Shinjuku, Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo occupies two towers near the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. It's about five minutes on foot from Shinjuku Station via the West Exit underground passage and about one minute from Tocho-mae Station.
This is a large, traditional full-service hotel rather than a compact station stay. Airport buses call at the door, restaurants and meeting spaces are on site, and rooms range from standard twins to family layouts and suites.
Rooms
Rooms are divided between the Main Tower and South Tower. Standard rooms start at 23.5 square meters, Superior rooms measure 33.7 square meters, and selected South Tower Deluxe rooms offer 40.8 square meters. The 46.3-square-meter Luxury Family Room sleeps three to five people, while universal-design rooms and larger suites provide choices for guests with different space or mobility needs.
The room category matters. Premier Grand rooms occupy upper floors, and selected categories include access to SKY PLAZA IBASHO. This shared space on the Main Tower's 47th floor has work areas, places to relax, and wide views across Shinjuku. Check the access conditions for your chosen room before booking.
Facilities
Guests can exercise, pick up essentials, or park without leaving the hotel. Facilities include a fitness room, convenience store, and parking, while the outdoor Sky Pool operates seasonally. Business support and extensive meeting and event spaces are also available, along with services for families and guests with accessibility needs.
Dining
Breakfast begins at 6:00 at both Super Buffet Glass Court and All Day Dining Jurin, with buffet and set-menu choices. In-room breakfast is also available from 6:00.
Later in the day, dining ranges from buffet and all-day service to specialist Japanese and Chinese restaurants. High-floor bars and lounges offer evening drinks with city views.
Location and transport
Nishi-Shinjuku is the office-tower and government side of the district. Tocho-mae Station is the simplest starting point when the Toei Oedo Line suits your journey, while Shinjuku Station provides JR, subway, and private railway routes across Tokyo and beyond. You won't need to cross the main station complex for every trip.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and its observation decks are close by. Shinjuku's east-side shops, restaurants, and Kabukicho nightlife remain walkable, but they lie across the station. Staying on the east side is more convenient if that area will be the focus of most evenings.
Airport access
Direct limousine buses run daily between the hotel and both Narita Airport and Haneda Airport. The hotel stop is particularly helpful with luggage because it avoids a transfer through the station. From Narita, the Narita Express is an alternative, taking about 80 minutes to Shinjuku Station before the walk from the West Exit.
Why stay here
The hotel's scale helps with airport arrivals, meetings or events in west Shinjuku, and family stays that need more than a basic double room. You can arrive by bus, choose among several places to eat without leaving the building, and use the Oedo Line without returning to the main rail complex.
The tradeoff is clear. This isn't an intimate hotel, and reaching the livelier streets east of Shinjuku Station requires extra walking. In return, you get full-service facilities, broader room choices, and simpler airport transfers.
Good to know
The hotel is reached through the West Exit underground passage but isn't directly connected to Shinjuku Station. At Tocho-mae Station, Exit A1 is closest to the hotel; Exit A4 has an elevator and may be easier with a wheelchair, stroller, or heavy bags. SKY PLAZA IBASHO access depends on room category, and the outdoor pool operates seasonally.
