Overview
Facing Sagami Bay with Orange Beach directly in front, Kameya Rakan is three minutes on foot from Ito Station. The short station walk brings a traditional hot-spring stay within easy reach of central Ito's seafront and rail connections.
Sea views and bathing choices are the main draws. Room categories differ considerably, however, with outlook, smoking policy, and private bathroom facilities all varying. Check the exact room details rather than choosing by price alone.
Rooms
All rooms are Japanese-style. Sea-facing choices include six- and ten-tatami layouts, while two rooms on the sixth floor, Yuunagi and Shinonome, add private open-air baths and broad views across Sagami Bay toward Hatsushima.
Other categories face the city or have no view. A larger city-side room has a private bath and toilet. The no-view eight-tatami room has a toilet but no bath, while a lower-floor no-view room permits smoking and has neither. In rooms with baths, the hotel uses hot-spring water.
Facilities
Four private open-air baths overlook the sea and can be reserved for an additional charge. Two are on the annex roof, and two are on the third floor of the main building. Their outlooks range from morning light to the evening sky.
The two larger shared baths have contrasting settings. Ginga looks across Ito toward the mountains, while the darker Shinkai has a cave-like atmosphere. Men's and women's access switches at 2:00 AM. A smaller family bath is free for staying guests, requires no reservation, and can be used when available.
Some baths use free-flowing spring water, while others combine it with circulation. The main shared facilities also include a sea-view lounge, souvenir shop, treatment services, and meeting or banquet rooms. Free guest parking is available.
Dining
Meals aren't included in current plans. Kameya Rakan currently sells room-only stays, so you'll need to arrange breakfast and dinner separately. This setup is better for guests who are comfortable eating in town rather than expecting a standard ryokan meal plan in the building.
Yu-no-Hana and Kinema shopping streets are within walking distance. The wider Ito Station Area has restaurants and casual places to eat between the railway, Matsukawa, and the coast. Check evening opening hours before leaving dinner too late.
Location and transport
The three-minute route from the station is outdoors, but it's short enough to manage without a shuttle. Orange Beach is directly in front, and Route 135 follows this part of the seafront. Tokaikan and the Matsukawa promenade are also within central Ito's walking district.
From Ito Station, JR trains run north to Atami for Tokaido Shinkansen connections. Izukyu services continue south toward Izu-Kogen, Kawazu, and Shimoda. Selected Limited Express Odoriko trains provide through service from the Tokyo area, but check the specific train before relying on a direct ride.
Airport access
There is no direct hotel-door airport service. Journeys from Haneda or Narita usually pass through Tokyo or Shinagawa, then Atami, before the final train to Ito. The short walk from Ito Station simplifies the last stage, but the full journey still takes several hours and may require transfers.
Why stay here
The combination of Ito Station, Orange Beach, and several private-bath choices is the clearest reason to stay. Sea-facing rooms make the most of the waterfront setting, while the shared and family baths provide several onsen options for guests who book a simpler room.
The location also supports a longer trip through eastern Izu. You can explore Ito without a car, then use the railway for Izu-Kogen, Kawazu, or Shimoda instead of changing hotels at each stop.
Good to know
Room categories vary more than photographs of the sea-facing rooms may suggest. Confirm the view, smoking status, and presence of a private bath and toilet before booking. The lowest-floor no-view category permits smoking and has neither a bath nor a toilet.
Private open-air baths require a reservation and an added fee, while the family bath is free and unreserved. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Bath schedules, charges, and room plans can change, so reconfirm them for your stay.
