Overview
JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Oita is directly connected to Oita Station, with its entrance just outside the Funai Chuo Exit and its eighth-floor lobby inside JR Oita City. Trains, airport buses, AMU Plaza shopping, and city-center restaurants are all available within the same complex.
The stay offers more than an easy arrival. Its 190 rooms feature warm wood, original furniture, and kumiko screens designed by Eiji Mitooka, while the upper floors contain a natural hot-spring spa with open views across Oita, Beppu Bay, and the surrounding mountains.
Rooms
Room choices range from standard doubles to superior and deluxe categories, premium king and twin rooms, and a universal single. Room sizes range from 19 to 32 square meters. Superior doubles and deluxe twins can accommodate a third guest with an additional bed.
The differences between categories are worth considering. Standard doubles have a large wooden desk for solo travelers or couples, while deluxe and premium rooms add floor space, better storage, city views, or bathrooms with separate washing areas. Every room has a Serta bed, Imabari towels, Wi-Fi, and a water pitcher for the dispensers on each guest floor.
Facilities
CITY SPA Tenku occupies the 19th to 21st floors and reopened after renovation in July 2026. Its rooftop open-air bathing area combines natural hot-spring water with a high-concentration carbonated bath. Indoor facilities include saunas and a cafe bar. Hotel guests enter with their room key, while the separate healing-spa zone costs extra.
The hotel also connects directly to City Rooftop Place, a large planted roof garden above the rail complex. Coin laundry, luggage storage, a small library corner, meeting space, and paid parking in the JR Oita City garages cover everyday needs.
Dining
Garden Table Shiki serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the eighth floor beside the rooftop garden. Breakfast combines a buffet of Oita and Kyushu dishes with a prepared box tray, giving guests a taste of regional food before a train departure.
Lunch and dinner center on seasonal set meals and kaiseki-style dishes, with local sake and shochu available in the evening. Breakfast isn't included with every room plan, so check the rate before relying on it. AMU Plaza and the streets north of the rail concourse provide plenty of alternatives downstairs.
Location and transport
The hotel is inside the Oita Station Area. From the ticket gates, follow signs for the Funai Chuo Exit, turn toward AMU Plaza, and use the dedicated elevators to reach the eighth-floor front desk. The official route takes less than a minute from the exit.
Oita Station serves the Nippo, Kyudai, and Hohi main lines. The Nippo route makes Beppu a straightforward journey north, while other services support itineraries toward inland Kyushu and the Hakata corridor, including Yufuin, Aso, and Kumamoto. Oita doesn't have a Shinkansen stop, so long-distance arrivals from Honshu normally require a change at Kokura.
Airport access
Airliner buses travel from Oita Airport to Oita Station in about 60 minutes. After getting off at Oita Ekimae, you'll find the hotel entrance and dedicated elevators inside JR Oita City, keeping the final walk short.
This is scheduled public transport, not a hotel shuttle. Traffic can affect journey times, so check the current timetable and allow extra time before an early flight.
Why stay here
Direct rail access removes the need for an awkward outdoor transfer after train and airport-bus journeys, while the rooftop spa offers a proper soak without leaving central Oita. That combination is especially helpful for a first or final night, a business trip, or an itinerary using Oita as the rail hub for Beppu and inland Kyushu.
Central Oita also rewards time beyond the station complex. The Oita Prefectural Art Museum and Funai Castle ruins are within the broader walking area, while buses from the station serve Umitamago aquarium and Takasakiyama's wild monkeys. Good to know
Standard check-in begins at 2:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. The healing-spa zone costs an additional 500 yen per visit. Spa admission rules exclude children under three, guests who still use diapers, and guests with tattoos.
Parking is paid in the JR Oita City garages. Weekends and holidays can be busy, so arriving by rail or airport bus is often simpler than driving.
