Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Hotel Route-Inn Fukui Ekimae is about two minutes on foot from Fukui Station's West Exit. Breakfast is included, and guests can use communal baths on the top floor.

Rooms

Single and semi-double rooms measure 11 square metres and have a 140-centimetre-wide bed. Twin rooms are 14 square metres with two separate beds.

Comfort rooms are on higher floors, but they don't provide additional space. Both smoking and non-smoking rooms are available.

Facilities

The men's and women's communal baths are on the top floor. They use artificially mineralized water rather than natural hot-spring water and are open from 15:00 to 02:00, then again from 05:00 to 10:00.

Coin-operated laundry machines and a shared microwave are on the 14th floor. The front desk also provides luggage storage.

Dining

A Japanese and Western breakfast buffet is included for hotel guests and served daily from 06:30 to 09:00. If your train leaves earlier, you'll need to arrange breakfast elsewhere.

Nearby restaurants provide lunch and dinner options. Self-service coffee is complimentary in the lobby during the morning and evening.

Location and transport

The Fukui Station Area has shops and restaurants near the West Exit, with the castle ruins farther into the city centre.

Direct Hokuriku Shinkansen trains connect Fukui with Tokyo and Kanazawa. Rail journeys from Osaka, Kyoto, or Nagoya require a change at Tsuruga.

Airport access

Direct Keifuku buses run from Komatsu Airport to Fukui Station's East Exit in about an hour. The hotel is on the opposite side of the tracks, so cross through the station to the West Exit and continue to the entrance.

Seats can't be reserved. Services connect with selected flights, so check the timetable and allow extra time for possible road delays.

Why stay here

The two-minute walk from the West Exit helps with early departures and one-night stops between cities. Even Comfort rooms are small; the upgrade mainly gives you a higher floor.

Nearby, Fukui Castle retains its moat and stone walls. You can continue to Yokokan Garden for a walk around the pond and a visit inside the restored villa.

Good to know

Check-in begins at 15:00, and checkout is by 10:00. The paid tower car park is first come, first served and has vehicle restrictions. Vehicles with roof carriers cannot use it. If you're driving a large car, check the size limits before arrival.
