A direct connection to Hiroshima Station puts Hotel Granvia Hiroshima on the Shinkansen Gate side of the rail complex. JR platforms and Hiroshima Airport buses are close at hand, so an arrival by Shinkansen or airport bus doesn't need another cross-city transfer.
The Hiroshima Station Area location favors train schedules over downtown atmosphere. Peace Memorial Park and Hondori require a streetcar, bus, or taxi ride, while an early departure or a JR day trip toward Miyajima starts with less backtracking.
Rooms
The hotel has 407 rooms, and the range is wider than the standard singles and twins might suggest. Entry-level singles measure 17 to 18 square meters, many double and twin categories fall between 18 and 29 square meters, and larger options reach 37 square meters. A four-bed Premium room provides 66 square meters for families or small groups.
Room choice matters here. Selected rooms on the Granvia, Superior, Premium, and 18th-floor Standard levels include access to the 21st-floor Granvia Lounge; other categories don't.
Facilities
The Granvia Lounge runs from breakfast through evening refreshments, with separate tea, afternoon, and cocktail periods. Eligible guests can check in there and use seating with Wi-Fi and charging points while looking over the city, railway tracks, and, in clear conditions, toward Miyajima.
A guest-only fitness room is available between travel days. Twelve banquet rooms also allow the hotel to handle conferences and larger functions without sending attendees away from the station.
Dining
Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:00 at Cafe & Buffet Dish Parade. The buffet draws on ingredients and dishes from Hiroshima and the Setouchi region, adding local character to a meal before departure.
Later meals range from casual buffet dining to Japanese, Chinese, and steak restaurants, with a bar for drinks. There's enough variety to stay in the building after a full sightseeing day.
Location and transport
The direct station connection is particularly helpful for the Sanyo Shinkansen and north-side airport buses. Long-distance trains run east toward Okayama and Shin-Osaka and west toward Hakata, while local JR services cover regional trips.
For Miyajima, take the Sanyo Main Line to Miyajimaguchi and continue by ferry. Streetcars and city buses depart from elsewhere in the station complex for central Hiroshima, including the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park. Follow signs toward the south side for the streetcar platforms.
Airport access
Hiroshima Airport limousine buses depart from Platform 5 at the Hiroshima Station Shinkansen Gate. The scheduled journey takes about 45 to 50 minutes, and the stop is near the hotel rather than at its front door. Traffic can cause delays, and busy departures may fill, so leave a margin before your flight.
Why stay here
An early Shinkansen, a luggage-heavy arrival, or an itinerary with several JR day trips is easier to manage from this side of Hiroshima Station. The direct rail connection is the main advantage, while the broad room range, in-house dining, and lounge access with selected bookings add comfort around the travel schedule.
Hiroshima's central sights aren't immediately outside. Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome require a local ride, while a Miyajima excursion begins with a straightforward JR trip to Miyajimaguchi. That balance favors itineraries mixing city sightseeing with rail travel beyond the center.

Hiroshima Station now has two Granvia hotels. Hotel Granvia Hiroshima is the original hotel on the Shinkansen Gate side, while Hotel Granvia Hiroshima South Gate is a separate hotel above the south-side redevelopment. Check the exact hotel name and station side before following arrival directions.
Granvia Lounge access isn't included with every booking. Eligibility depends on the floor, room category, or plan, so confirm the conditions for the room you select.
