Overview

Hotel Century Southern Tower is a strong fit for travelers who want Shinjuku's rail and highway-bus connections close by, but prefer to sleep away from the busiest east-side nightlife streets. The hotel is on the south side of Shinjuku Station, about three minutes on foot from both the station and Busta Shinjuku.

The surrounding Tokyo-Shinjuku area gives you easy access to JR trains, south-exit shopping, and a dense restaurant scene without making arrivals feel complicated. This is especially helpful if you are arriving with luggage, catching an express bus, or planning frequent cross-city train trips. The tradeoff is location rather than quality: Kabukicho and the east-side nightlife area are across the station, so travelers who expect to end every night there may find the walk less direct.

Rooms

Guest rooms occupy the 22nd to 35th floors, and all are more than 100 meters above ground. That height is central to the experience rather than a bonus reserved for only a few premium rooms, so the outlook is a meaningful part of the stay in every category.

The 375-room lineup starts with Comfort and Southern Tower categories. Scenic rooms place more emphasis on the view, while Panoramic twin and king layouts are the roomier choices among the regular rooms. For substantially more space, the hotel has two Executive rooms of 70 and 80 square meters. There is also one accessible room of 31 square meters, based on the Scenic Twin layout.

Facilities

Facilities lean toward efficient self-service rather than a full roster of hotel extras. Guests can use luggage carts, and guest floors have vending machines and purified-water dispensers near the elevators. Rooms also include refrigerators, which helps with drinks or simple snacks between meals.

Paid laundry service is available, and Jexer Fitness & Spa Shinjuku, a partner fitness facility across the street, can be used for an additional charge.

Dining

Southern Tower Dining on the 20th floor serves breakfast through dinner and makes the upper-floor views part of the meal. On the same floor, Lounge South Court is a more casual stop for drinks, desserts, and light meals. Yurakucho Kakida on the 19th floor focuses on sushi and teppanyaki.

Location and transport

The hotel is close to JR trains, with Shinjuku's private railway and subway connections nearby as well. From the hotel, the JR South Exit, Koshu-Kaido Gate, and Busta Shinjuku are each about three minutes away on foot. The New South Gate is also about a three-minute walk, while Toei Subway Shinjuku Station's A1 exit is about one minute away.

This side of the station works well if you expect to use the New South Gate, Busta Shinjuku, or shopping around Takashimaya. It is also convenient for JR movement across Tokyo. For Kabukicho and the east-side nightlife district, however, you will need to cross the station area, so this is not the most immediate choice if late-night proximity is your main concern.

Airport access

Airport limousine buses stop at the hotel entrance for Haneda Airport and Narita International Airport, with advance reservations required through the bus operator. Busta Shinjuku, about three minutes away on foot, also has airport bus services.

For Narita, the JR Narita Express connects Shinjuku Station with the airport in about 80 minutes.

Why stay here

Choose Hotel Century Southern Tower if your priorities are high-floor views, easy transport, and airport-bus access rather than being directly inside the late-night nightlife area. It is a particularly good match for travelers arriving by rail or express bus, and for those who want the day-to-day convenience of Shinjuku without the east-side intensity outside the door.

Good to know

Expect a streamlined service model. The hotel does not offer coin laundry, porter service, or room service, so guests who rely on those services should make arrangements in advance. The partner fitness facility costs extra, and airport limousine buses should be reserved through the bus operator rather than treated as an on-demand shuttle.
