Overview
Henn na Hotel Premier Kyoto Gojo Karasuma is about a two-minute walk from Gojo Station Exit 4, one stop north of Kyoto Station on the Karasuma Line. Its location along the Karasuma corridor works well for arrivals, day trips, and cross-city sightseeing, while keeping guests just outside the busier hotel cluster around Kyoto Station.
This is the southern side of Kyoto Shijo-Karasuma, closer to Gojo than Shijo. It is a better fit for travelers who value subway access and central-city convenience than for those who want to be in the middle of Gion's evening atmosphere.
Rooms
The hotel has 122 non-smoking rooms, with options including doubles, twins, Hollywood twins, deluxe Kyoto Tower-view rooms, suites, premier suites, a universal room, and themed collaboration rooms.
Most rooms feature tatami-inspired flooring and separate bath and toilet areas, with the standard twin room as the exception. The suite categories offer the most flexibility for families and small groups, with extra space and capacity for up to five adults.
Facilities
Facilities focus on making short stays and multi-night Kyoto trips run smoothly. Guests have access to express check-in, luggage storage lockers, coin laundry, microwaves, vending machines, free Wi-Fi, and a comic corner.
The front desk uses a flap-display service, adding the playful automated touch associated with the Henn na brand while keeping the emphasis on quick check-in, luggage handling, and nearby transport.
Dining
Gyumeshi Gojou serves breakfast on the first floor. The buffet includes around 40 Japanese and Western items, including Kyoto-style side dishes, and the restaurant also opens for lunch with beef-rice dishes.
It is a convenient choice for an easy start before sightseeing or a simple meal before heading back into central Kyoto.
Location and transport
Gojo Station is on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line. From Exit 4, the hotel is about two minutes on foot; using the elevator route from Exit 6 takes about four minutes.
Kyoto Station is one stop away by subway, with Shijo and Karasuma Oike directly north on the same line. This setup suits travelers who want straightforward access across central Kyoto without staying directly beside the Shinkansen platforms.
Airport access
From Kansai International Airport, take the JR Haruka to Kyoto Station, then transfer to the Karasuma Line for the one-stop ride to Gojo Station and walk to the hotel. From Itami Airport, take the limousine bus to the Kyoto Hachijo-guchi side, then continue by subway via Kyoto Station.
There is no hotel-door airport shuttle, but the short subway link from Kyoto Station keeps the transfer manageable.
Why stay here
Choose Henn na Hotel Premier Kyoto Gojo Karasuma if Karasuma Line access, a quick walk from Gojo Station, and tatami-style rooms matter more than being directly beside the Shinkansen platforms or in Gion's evening scene. It is a comfortable, practical choice for travelers who want central Kyoto convenience with an easy connection back to Kyoto Station.
Good to know
The hotel does not have its own parking lot or affiliated parking, and official access guidance recommends using public transportation. Although Kyoto Station is close by subway, this is not a station-front or directly connected hotel.
