Overview
On Chuo-dori in central Oita, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Oita is about ten minutes on foot from Oita Station's Funai Chuo Exit. The airport bus stops outside, and the downtown restaurant district, Funai Castle ruins, and Oita Prefectural Art Museum are all within walking distance.
The hotel reopened in July 2026 as part of its first full renovation since 2008. The changes include larger rooms for families and groups, plus a self-service baggage port in the lobby. Work on the remaining floors is due to finish on September 1.
Rooms
All 240 rooms measure at least 18 square meters. Most are 18.2-square-meter Standard Doubles with wide desks, a straightforward layout for solo guests, couples, or anyone planning to work in the room. Superior Queen and Superior Twin rooms provide a little more floor space.
The new 36.1-square-meter Family Room sleeps up to four, with two beds on a raised platform and room for two extra beds. The 33.6-square-meter Deluxe Twin accommodates three guests. Both have a microwave and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, helpful during longer stays.
Facilities
The second-floor lobby has self-check-in machines, an amenity bar, and a baggage port for use before check-in or after checkout. There's also a 24-hour convenience store on the first floor.
The adjoining multistory car park has 96 spaces, available without reservations on a first-come, first-served basis. Vehicle limits apply, and only some spaces can accommodate high-roof vehicles. During the current renovation, the coin laundry and drinks vending machines remain unavailable through August 31.
Dining
Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:00 AM, with final entry at 9:30, at H Coffee & Work on the first floor. The Japanese and Western buffet features Oita dishes such as toriten chicken tempura, karaage, and ryukyu-style marinated fish, alongside ochazuke and curry.
Later in the day, the same venue provides coworking space, cafe service, and dinner. It normally closes on Sundays, although opening hours and days off can change around holidays.
Location and transport
From Oita Station, leave through the Funai Chuo Exit, also signed as the North Exit, and follow Chuo-dori for roughly ten minutes. The route is outdoors. The hotel isn't connected to the station.
Oita Station brings together the Nippo, Kyudai, and Hohi main lines for journeys toward Beppu, Yufuin, Aso, Kumamoto, and other parts of eastern and central Kyushu. Although the hotel is within the wider Oita Station Area, it is closer to the government offices and Funai Castle ruins than to the rail platforms.
Airport access
The Niagemachi Daiwa Roynet Hotel-mae bus stop is directly outside the entrance. The direct highway service to Oita Airport takes 66 minutes, and adult one-way tickets are sold at the hotel front desk.
This is a scheduled Airliner bus rather than a private hotel shuttle. Some departures use a longer route, and road traffic can affect journey times, so check the current timetable before traveling.
Why stay here
Having the airport bus stop outside removes the final walk with luggage on flight days, while Oita Station remains close enough for rail trips. The new Family and Deluxe Twin rooms also broaden the choice beyond a standard business-hotel double. Until renovation ends, the tradeoff is possible daytime disturbance and reduced access to several facilities.
Funai Castle ruins, OPAM, and the central shopping arcades are all reachable on foot. Restaurants line Chuo-dori and the surrounding downtown streets, so dinner doesn't require another bus or train.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 2:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. Renovation work is scheduled through August 31, 2026, with full completion planned for September 1. Until then, high-floor requests cannot be accepted, the coin laundry and vending machines are unavailable, and guests may notice noise, vibration, or workers in the corridors. The completion date may change, so confirm the latest conditions before arrival.
