Overview
A sheltered underground passage beneath Kyoto Porta leads from Kyoto Station to Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae PREMIER on the north side of the rail complex. The Central Exit is about four minutes away on foot; the subway and Kintetsu approaches take roughly three and five minutes respectively.
This location removes the need for a separate city transfer after a long-distance arrival and keeps early trains close. Interiors are modern, with Nishijin textile patterns and other Kyoto-inspired details. Gion and Higashiyama still require a local ride.
Rooms
The hotel's 205 rooms range from 18.2-square-metre standard doubles to a 40.1-square-metre executive double. Standard and superior doubles cover most one- or two-person stays, while twin rooms allow more flexibility.
Room choice matters here. The 30.9-square-metre deluxe twin accommodates up to three guests, and the 36.2-square-metre executive twin accommodates up to four. Selected superior, deluxe, and executive categories have separate bathtubs and toilets, which can make shared rooms easier to use.
Facilities
Six coin-operated laundry machines are available around the clock. One-day luggage storage and domestic courier service help on arrival and departure days, while microwaves, ice machines, and vending machines cover simple late-night needs.
There is no hotel parking. Guests arriving by car will need to arrange a separate space nearby.
Dining
Breakfast is served at Nha Viet Nam on the second floor from 6:30 to 10:00, with last entry at 9:40. The buffet combines Japanese and Western staples with Vietnamese dishes such as pho, giving it more range than a standard business-hotel breakfast. Same-day breakfast tickets are available from the front desk.
Location and transport
Kyoto Station brings the Tokaido Shinkansen, JR local lines, the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line, and Kintetsu trains into one large complex. The hotel's north-side position is closest to the Central Exit and subway, while reaching the Shinkansen and airport-bus areas requires crossing the station.
For guests staying in the Kyoto Station Area, this network supports early departures, rail day trips, and direct subway travel toward Gojo, Shijo, and Karasuma Oike. The station building and Porta also keep shopping and dining close to the route back to the hotel.
Airport access
There is no hotel-door airport shuttle. From Kansai International Airport, the Haruka limited express reaches Kyoto Station in about 75 minutes. Airport limousine buses use the Hachijo Exit side and publish a journey of about 105 minutes, followed by an eight-minute walk to the hotel.
From Itami Airport, limousine buses also arrive on the Hachijo side. The hotel publishes a journey of about 55 minutes, plus the same walk across the station area. Road times can vary, so check the current schedule before traveling.
Why stay here
First and last nights, early departures, and rail day trips all benefit from the short walk to the Central Exit, the sheltered passage, and the hotel's luggage and laundry services. Larger twin categories also give families and small groups more room than the entry-level doubles.
Kyoto Tower stands near the Central Exit, while Higashi Honganji is within the wider station district. Kyoto Porta and the station building add plenty of places to eat or shop, which is handy when arrival day leaves little time for a separate neighborhood plan.
Good to know
The underground entrance closes from 23:30 to 7:00. Late arrivals and early departures must use the street-level route, so don't rely on the Porta passage overnight. Check-in begins at 14:00, check-out is at 11:00, and the hotel has no parking.
