Overview
Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae PREMIER is located in the Kyoto Station Area, about four minutes on foot from Kyoto Station Central Exit. The hotel is directly connected to the station underpass through the Porta underground shopping complex, making it a practical north-side station stay for rail arrivals, subway access, and airport routes through Kyoto Station.
Rooms
The hotel has 205 guest rooms, with double, twin, and universal double layouts. Rooms start at 18.2 square meters, and larger double and twin categories reach about 30 to 40 square meters. Selected rooms have semi-separate or fully separate bathrooms, which can matter for travelers who prefer the bath and toilet divided.
Room features are practical for city stays: wired and wireless internet, bedside power, wide desks, humidifying air purifiers, and standalone air conditioning are listed across the official room information. The overall design uses Kyoto-inspired details without making the stay feel like a ryokan.
Facilities
Facilities cover the basics for a station-side stay. The hotel has coin laundry, vending machines, ice machines, microwave ovens, a smoking area, luggage storage for one day, domestic courier service, free Wi-Fi, and wheelchair loans for use inside the hotel. There is no hotel parking, so drivers should plan separately.
Dining
Breakfast is served buffet style at Nha Viet Nam on the second floor. The buffet includes Japanese, Western, and Vietnamese options, with breakfast service running from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Location and transport
Kyoto Station is the main reason to choose this hotel. The location works for Shinkansen arrivals, JR and subway trips, Kintetsu access, station-area shopping, and early rail departures. It is stronger for transport and Kyoto Station convenience than for staying inside an old-town sightseeing district.
Airport access
Airport access uses Kyoto Station routes rather than a hotel-door shuttle. From Itami Airport, the hotel lists airport limousine access to the Hachijo Exit bus stop at Kyoto Station, followed by a walk to the hotel. From Kansai International Airport, travelers can use either the airport limousine bus to Kyoto Station or the Haruka limited express.
Good to know
The underground connection is useful in bad weather, but the underpass entrance is closed from 11:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Late arrivals should be ready to use the street-level route. The hotel makes the most sense for travelers who value Kyoto Station access, laundry, breakfast, and airport or rail connections over a temple-side or nightlife-focused location.
