Overview
Comfort Hotel ERA Nagoya Meiekiminami is about eight minutes on foot from Nagoya Station, south of the main rail complex and within reach of Shinkansen, Meitetsu, Kintetsu, and two subway lines. The 178-room hotel took its current name in June 2026, when the former Comfort Hotel Nagoya Meiekiminami joined the ERA brand. All rooms are smoke-free.
The guest-only Library Cafe is the distinguishing feature. Open until midnight, it provides space to read, work, enjoy a drink, or pass the time before check-in and after checkout.
Rooms
Most rooms are 15-square-meter Double Standards. Queen Economy rooms measure 17 square meters, while 22-square-meter Standard Twins have two separate beds and more floor space. Two 30-square-meter Universal Rooms complete the total of 178 rooms.
Every category has Simmons mattresses and a private unit bathroom. ReFa nanobubble shower heads and high-airflow dryers are standard, while limited numbers of straightening and curling irons can be borrowed from reception. Room televisions support casting and show current crowd levels at breakfast and in the coin laundry.
Facilities
Open from 10:00 AM to midnight, the Library Cafe holds around 300 books on Nagoya's history, food, manufacturing, and everyday life. Wi-Fi, charging points, and complimentary coffee and tea make the space equally comfortable for reading or catching up on work. Seto ware, Arimatsu-Narumi tie-dyed fabric, and other local crafts add regional character without turning the lounge into a formal exhibition.
The service changes throughout the day. A complimentary local sweet is served from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by Aichi alcoholic drinks for purchase from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Self check-in machines, free self-service luggage storage, and a 24-hour coin laundry cover routine travel needs.
Dining
The paid breakfast buffet runs from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM, combining familiar staples with local dishes. Published examples include Nagoya-style sandwiches, chilled kishimen noodles, uiro sweets, and red-miso soup, although individual dishes may change.
There isn't a full-service restaurant advertised for lunch or dinner. Department-store dining, underground shopping passages, and numerous casual places to eat surround the Nagoya Station Area, with the rail complex providing the broadest choice nearby.
Location and transport
The hotel is on the Sakura-dori side of Nagoya Station, south of the main JR concourses. The published walk is about eight minutes from the central exits of Meitetsu Nagoya and Kintetsu Nagoya; JR and subway entrances are elsewhere in the wider station district.
Each operator has separate gates. JR handles the Tokaido Shinkansen and regional trains, Meitetsu serves the airport and destinations across Aichi, and Kintetsu runs toward Mie and Osaka. Two subway lines cover trips through central Nagoya. Check the operator as well as the station name before setting out.
Airport access
Meitetsu trains connect Central Japan International Airport with Meitetsu Nagoya in about 28 minutes. The hotel is then roughly eight minutes away on foot. It's the most direct public transport route because no subway transfer is needed.
The hotel doesn't run an airport shuttle. First-class seating on Mu-Sky and certain limited express services requires an additional ticket, and passengers arriving on the JR side should allow time to find the separate Meitetsu gates.
Why stay here
Nagoya's rail connections are the main reason to book, but the Library Cafe adds a comfortable place to spend time outside the room. Local sweets, drinks, books, and craft details make it more than an overflow breakfast space, particularly after checkout or between plans.
The surrounding station district keeps Shinkansen departures, direct airport trains, shopping, and everyday meals in one general area. The hotel isn't connected to the station, however. That outdoor walk is the main tradeoff, especially in rain or with heavy luggage.
Good to know
Standard check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is at 10:00 AM. Breakfast costs extra unless it's included in the room plan, while the afternoon sweet and non-alcoholic cafe drinks are complimentary for staying guests.
Drivers need to use nearby paid parking because the hotel has no dedicated or partner spaces. Older reservations and map listings may still show Comfort Hotel Nagoya Meiekiminami, the name used before the June 2026 rebrand.
