Overview
About five minutes on foot from Nagano Station's Zenkoji Exit, Chisun Grand Nagano keeps the Hokuriku Shinkansen, local trains, and city buses close while occupying a comparatively quiet part of central Nagano.
The location helps with early departures, one-night stops between longer journeys, and day trips by bus or local rail. Rooms are also more generous than at many simple station-side hotels, with standard singles starting at 20 square meters.
Rooms
All 136 rooms are non-smoking. Standard rooms occupy the second through eighth floors, with 20-square-meter single and semi-double layouts and 25-square-meter twin and triple rooms. The triple uses a sofa bed for the third guest.
Grand Floor rooms on the ninth through eleventh floors add Simmons pillow-top beds and upgraded shower fittings, while selected categories look across the Zenkoji Plain. The eleventh-floor junior suites provide the most space, with 40-square-meter king and 50-square-meter twin layouts.
Facilities
Facilities cover the everyday needs of a rail or road trip without trying to create a resort experience. Free Wi-Fi and a laundry room help with longer journeys, while guests can select amenities and loan items from a lobby collection point. The hotel also has a wheelchair-accessible toilet, one universal room, and a small meeting room.
Paid parking is available for 50 cars. Spaces are assigned on arrival and can't be reserved, so drivers may need to use a nearby public car park when the hotel lot is full.
Dining
Breakfast is served at Japanese Restaurant Asama on the twelfth floor. Its buffet emphasizes house-made Japanese dishes, including rice, miso soup, grilled fish, and seasonal Shinshu specialties. On clear mornings, the dining room has views toward the Northern Alps.
Asama also serves Japanese set meals and kaiseki. Lunch is limited to weekends and public holidays, while dinner requires a reservation, so check the current schedule if an evening meal at the hotel matters to your plans.
Location and transport
JR Nagano Station and the Nagano Electric Railway's Nagano Station are both about five minutes away. JR services include the Hokuriku Shinkansen and regional trains, while the separate Nagano Electric Railway runs toward Obuse and Yudanaka.
Many city and sightseeing buses depart from the Zenkoji Exit side. This makes the hotel a convenient starting point for Zenkoji, Togakushi, and Matsushiro, with shops, restaurants, and tourist information in the wider Nagano Station Area also within an easy walk.
Why stay here
The short walk to Nagano's main transport hub simplifies train departures and bus day trips. Standard rooms of 20 to 25 square meters provide extra luggage space compared with a compact rail stopover, while the top-floor breakfast restaurant and larger upper-floor rooms add appeal beyond the location.
Nagano Station provides a convenient launch point for Zenkoji and separate outings to Togakushi or Matsushiro. If temple-town streets and evenings near Zenkoji are the main focus, staying closer to the temple will place more of that atmosphere outside the door.

The hotel is near Nagano Station but isn't directly connected. The walk from the Zenkoji Exit is outdoors. On-site parking is paid, allocated on a first-come basis, and can't be reserved.
