Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

APA Hotel & Resort Niigata Ekimae Odori is located between Niigata Station and Bandai Bridge, about seven minutes on foot from the station's Bandai side. The Labra Bandai shopping centers are closer, at roughly two minutes away.

Open-air public baths and a guest gym are available on the second floor. A 24-hour Lawson handles quick purchases, and the outdoor pool opens seasonally.

Rooms

The hotel has 1,001 rooms across floors three through nineteen. Singles measure 10 square meters and doubles 11, while twin layouts range from 14 to 33 square meters. Some rooms have limited views, so check the category before booking if a view matters.

Connecting rooms accommodate up to four adults. An internal door joins two rooms, leaving two bathrooms and allowing families or friends to move between them without using the corridor.

Facilities

Men's and women's public baths on the second floor include indoor and open-air baths. Reclining and pot baths are also available. The indoor baths use an artificial mineral spring treatment. Overnight guests don't pay an extra fee, and in-room screens show current congestion.

The gym is free for overnight guests. The seasonal outdoor pool costs extra and requires a reservation; dates and rates change each season. Coin laundry and shared microwaves are on the second floor.

Dining

Breakfast uses one of two first-floor restaurants, depending on the plan. LaCle serves a Japanese and Western buffet from 6:30 with Uonuma Koshihikari rice. It also opens for lunch and dinner.

The nineteenth floor has a darts and billiards bar. More restaurants are within a short walk in Bandai City.

Location and transport

The hotel is on the Bandai side of the Niigata Station Area. Joetsu Shinkansen trains run directly to Tokyo, while regional JR lines serve Nagaoka, Shibata, Yoshida, and other parts of Niigata Prefecture.

The walk to Niigata Station is outdoors. Bandai City bus stop is about one minute away, and local buses continue to Toki Messe and the port. Bandai Bridge and the Shinano River embankment are about five minutes away on foot.

Airport access

From Niigata Airport, the E22 local bus runs directly to Bandai City in about 25 minutes. The hotel is three minutes from the bus stop on foot. Direct limousine buses serve Niigata Station instead; after crossing to the Bandai side, the hotel is seven minutes away on foot.

Traffic and winter weather can lengthen either journey. Check the current timetable before an early flight.

Why stay here

Station-front hotels cut the walk to the trains, but this address is closer to Bandai's shops and riverfront. It also has public baths, a gym, and an airport bus stop three minutes away.

Bandai City's department stores and shops begin nearby. Bandai Bridge and the riverside path are about five minutes away. Cross the bridge to reach Furumachi's older commercial streets and evening dining.

Good to know

Check-in from 15:00 to 18:00 and checkout from 10:00 to 11:00 can be busy. Guests can't use stairs to move between hotel floors, so elevator waits may increase when local events finish.

Take towels from the room to the public bath. Guests with tattoos can't use the baths. The seasonal pool is paid and available by reservation only, and its schedule changes each year.
