Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

VIA INN ABENO TENNOJI is two minutes on foot from Tennoji Station / Osaka-Abenobashi, beside one of southern Osaka's busiest transport and shopping districts. Abeno Harukas, Abeno Q's Mall, and Tennoji Park are nearby, with Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku within walking distance.

The hotel is in Osaka Tennoji-Abeno, close to JR, Osaka Metro, Kintetsu, and Hankai services. The short station walk and direct trains to Kansai International Airport are the main reasons to stay here, rather than an extensive range of leisure facilities.

Rooms

Rooms accommodate one or two guests. Singles measure 13 square metres, while doubles and compact twins provide 15 square metres. If floor space and bathroom layout matter, compare the 20-square-metre standard twin, which has two separate beds and a bath separated from the toilet.

A 26-square-metre accessible room is available by telephone reservation. Overall, the rooms are compact, and desk layouts vary by category. Solo guests planning to work should compare the single-room photographs and desk arrangements before booking.

Facilities

Card-key elevator security and a staffed 24-hour reception cover the arrival basics, while the entrance locks during late-night hours.

A washer-dryer is available on the 10th floor. Guests can also use the seventh-floor microwave and vending machines or the ice machine on the 10th floor for quick food and drinks.

Don Quijote occupies the first through sixth floors of the same building and stays open until 01:00 under the current schedule. It's convenient for picking up food, toiletries, luggage items, and other last-minute purchases without making another stop.

Dining

A paid breakfast buffet is served in the seventh-floor lounge from 06:30 to 10:00, with final entry at 09:30. The selection combines rice and bread with prepared meat and fish dishes, a customizable salad, homemade pudding, and the Via Inn chain's coffee blend.

There isn't a full-service restaurant for lunch or dinner. Broader dining choices are available in the surrounding Tennoji-Abeno shopping complexes and around the station.

Location and transport

JR Tennoji and Osaka Metro Tennoji are about two minutes away using the hotel's directions. The Midosuji Line runs directly to Namba, Shinsaibashi, Umeda, and Shin-Osaka, while the Tanimachi Line provides another north-south route through the city.

JR services include the Osaka Loop Line, the Nara-bound Yamatoji Line, and the Hanwa Line toward Wakayama and Kansai Airport. Adjacent Osaka-Abenobashi is the Kintetsu station for trains into southern Nara Prefecture, including limited-express services toward Yoshino. The gates are separate, so check the operator before choosing an entrance.

Airport access

Direct trains connect Tennoji with Kansai International Airport. The hotel's access information gives journey times of about 35 minutes on the Haruka limited express or about 50 minutes on the Kansai-Airport Rapid, not including waiting time. The final walk from JR Tennoji takes about two minutes.

From Osaka Itami Airport, limousine buses reach the Tennoji and Abenobashi area in about 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions. The bus serves the station district rather than the hotel door, so confirm the current stop before traveling with luggage.

Why stay here

Direct airport trains, several nearby rail networks, and straightforward subway trips through central Osaka simplify arrival days and sightseeing from the city's south side. The tradeoff is compact rooms, no public bath, and fewer in-house facilities than a full-service hotel.

Across the station district, Abeno Harukas combines an observation deck, department store, and art museum. Tenshiba opens into Tennoji Park and leads toward Tennoji Zoo, while Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku offer a contrasting retro entertainment area farther west.

Good to know

The hotel is close to Tennoji Station but isn't directly connected to the rail complex. Standard check-in begins at 15:00, and checkout is at 10:00.

Tennoji and Osaka-Abenobashi form the same broader transport hub but belong to different operators. Confirm whether your train uses JR, Osaka Metro, Kintetsu, or Hankai before following an exit number.
