Other meals don't need to revolve around the hotel. The surrounding Kobe-Sannomiya streets offer a broad mix of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shopping in the central district.
Location and transport
The municipal subway is closest, with East Exit 2 about two minutes away. JR Sannomiya's Central Exit is around three minutes on foot, while Hankyu and Hanshin Kobe-Sannomiya are about five. Although these services share the Sannomiya name, they use separate stations and ticket gates, so the right entrance depends on the operator.
The subway places Shin-Kobe one stop north for Sanyo Shinkansen connections. JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin provide several options toward Osaka and across Kobe, which helps when an itinerary spans more than one part of the Kansai rail network.
Airport access
The Port Liner connects Sannomiya directly with Kobe Airport in about 18 minutes. Allow extra time to cross the wider station district between the hotel and the Port Liner platforms.
A stop for the bus between Shin-Kobe and Kobe Airport is also about a minute from the hotel. This is a public bus, not a hotel shuttle, so check the current timetable against your flight.
Why stay here
Short walks to several Sannomiya operators ease early departures and multi-line itineraries, while the 6:30 breakfast is convenient before heading out. The stay is deliberately simple. Compact rooms, breakfast, and transport convenience take priority over leisure facilities or full-service dining, and checkout is at 10:00.
Sannomiya and Motomachi form Kobe's central shopping and dining district. Ikuta Shrine is nearby, while continuing west and south leads toward Chinatown and the Former Foreign Settlement. A stay planned around rail connections can therefore flow naturally into the city's main sightseeing areas.
Good to know
The hotel is close to Sannomiya but isn't directly connected to any station. JR, subway, Hankyu, Hanshin, and Port Liner entrances are spread across the district, so check the correct operator and exit before arriving with luggage.
Several Toyoko Inn locations have similar Sannomiya names. This one is in Nunobiki-cho near subway East Exit 2 and JR's Central Exit, not Toyoko Inn Kobe Sannomiya-eki Higashi or Toyoko Inn Kobe Sannomiya-eki Shiyakusho Mae.
2-minute walk
